Thanks guys,

Quick question, what colour do you think the turbo laser should be. I am thinking a black metallic but worried it would look a little dull.

Hey guys,

Bit more progress. Landing Gear is now stuck together (but not to the hull so I can use a flying base for games)

Done the base colours on them but need a lot of work. Put the hull together with the rear engine looking more like a aircraft and less like a boat (according to the wife)

Found a AoBR Nob for a size comparison

Some big steps over the last few days. I have started work on the tail fin and rudder, hope to have these done over the weekend. Nose cone is in a position where I just need to do metalics and attach the front heavy bolters.

The remaining bits are,

Radar
Targeting Sensors
Nose Cone detail
Attack Wings
Rear Wing
Doors

A much small list than I started with!

I then plan on doing some more highlighting (some is a bit too subtle) and then the decals.
After that its on to the weathering

Heres the progress so far

its pretty big

And with a test fit for the Attack Wings and Tail.

I was a bit miffed with these as they dont sit flush in the cradle thats on the main wings. However its a small issue thats only noticed when they are down and not in attack position.

Hey guys,

Finally got round to doing more of the Thunderhawk. Got side tracked painting some Orks up and some Space Wolves for a few games.

I felt the craft was looking rather mono tone so decided to add a little colour to break it up a bit.

First off the front Heavy bolters are now added. I will be putting the targeting box on after the model is weathered as I dont want to ruin my target lenses.

I have also added some colour to the attack wings and have started to add decals.

Ummm ignor the small text as you cant read it in real life. Only just noticed what they say when I browsed the photos lol

I have also been testing out my lense techniques very happy with the result.

I have also started to paint up the side doors. I am not too happy with the door on the left as I am confused as to why it has air vents into it when its a space craft!!!
I might block it with green stuff.

Finally I have started to test out the weather effects on the front ramp. I wanted to give it a used look although it might be a bit OTT. The scorch marks will have some mettalic added to make it look like the paint has chipped from an air burst or energy shot.

So very close now, weathering is done, just got the side doors to go as well as the tail rudder.

The runes on the scroll read "Mjölnir" which is Thor's Hammer.

Here are some shots of how it looks as well as a size comparison with a Razorback I did at the weekend

Fantastic work!!! I am impressed! I especially like your decaling. I used the ubiqutous "no step" decals from an f-14 kit on the wings of my Marauder Destroyer. Your Hazard Stripes are perfect too.
