Yep. I used woodland scenics realistic water for the pools and water effects for the pipes draining into it. I had never used these products before so I was a bit nervous, but the effect seems to be pretty good and overall I'm happy with them. I'm not sure, however, that I would use the realistic water again. For the amount of coverage you get, it's pretty expensive stuff.

The table is finally finished and delivered. I have a bunch of pics of the finished product and of game play but I'll start off with the last few WiP pics that I didn't have time to upload last week.
This was my favorite part of the table. I had originally wanted to put caution stripes on the borders of the channels and the borders of the pipes but after finishing the ones on the channels I realized that this wasn't even remote possibility due to the time I had to finish it. So, I wanted to share with you this neat little trick I picked up way back in my car modeling days. Perhaps you've seen it done before but, anyway, here it is. I started by doing my metal basecoat and drybrush highlight. I then coated the area I wanted the stripes with rubber cement.
Next, I painted the border black over the rubber cement.
Then I taped off the stripes with 10mm masking tape.
In this picture the stripes have been painted yellow and the masking tape removed.
This was the fun part. After the paint had dried I took some more tape. This has to be very tacky; masking tape won't work well or at all. I used some duct tape. I wrapped a bit of tape around my fingers and began pulling the paint off. The base coat of rubber cement allows some of the paint to peel off. This took a little bit of work especially on the yellow areas because I had to apply a few coats of the paint to get it to cover.
I took some rust colored chalk pastels and shaved off some dust which I brushed on all over the table. The effect turned out to be pretty heavy in many areas but, in the end, the application of matte varnish really toned it down.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Here's the completed board. Not quite as finished as I had hoped to get it but, I'm pretty happy with it all the same.
My favorite part of the table. I think the water came out really well.
And lastly, a couple of gameplay shots featuring more unpainted models than you can shake a stick at (many of which were mine).
So there it is. It's such a relief to be done with and on time no less. I delivered it yesterday to the Battle for the Shrine, we chucked some dice, had a good time, and raised a bunch of money for the Shriner's Children's Hospital. Thanks everybody for watching and the compliments. I'm gonna take a little break and maybe get working on some of the other silly ideas I've been cooking in my head.

I dig how in a setting where giant, muscled fungus men ride Mad Max cars and use their own teeth as currency, the concept of little engineering dudes with beards was considered a step too far down the aisle of silliness. ADB |

Great Table mate, and all that work is worth it more than just tossing some dice. I think it is an honorable thing you and your FLGS does. if i lived close enough i would be attending this even each year.
your table is amazing but alas, it will never trump the one Yazza and The Keeper did for Malifaux the Wyrd Games forums. its amazing. however yours went to a better cause =]
