That one's not entirely fair. Since the 2nd edition Angels of Death codex was released, they've improved rather significantly in the use of NMM (because the 2nd ed Dante was poor even by '90's standards), and have learnt that you can, in fact, add highlights and shading to metals (which was the stated reason for painting Dante in NMM in the first place...)

I wonder also how many people's impressions of the standard of 'Eavy Metal painting are influenced by the 'Dark Times' of 4th edition, when they were specifically told to tone it down so beginners wouldn't be put off... Painting at their best, they do turn out some superb work.

While it's fashionable to bag on GW at the moment, can we try to not make it personal?

Judging by the threads popping up about the miscasting problems folks are finding in their just-arriviing mail orders, I would suggest:

"Rubbish Resin"

Or something similar.

With the miscasting problems and the fact that the current ones are from older metal molds how about "Sloppy Seconds"?

GW didn't mean to hit your wallet and I know they love you, baby. I'm sure they won't do it again so it's ok to purchase and make up.

"We are the Ultramodrines, And We Shall Fear No Trolls. bear this USR with pride".

Also, how does one apply to be a member of the Ultramodrines? Are harsh trials involved, ones that would test my faith as a wargamer and resolve as a geek?

You must recite every rule of Dakka Dakka. BACKWARDS.

Their new name will be:

Heavy Metal painters

TA-DAA!!!

See they add one new capitalized letter and remove that painful apostrophe so that the customers get 10% new and improved content. And for that significant upgrade, they will only charge you 25-40% more.

What a deal!

Don't worry, be happy!

The secret to painting a really big army is to keep at it. You can't reach your destination if you never take any steps.

I build IG...lots and lots of IG.
