I use a dremmel all the time. I find two accessories invaluable.

First, a flex-shaft attachment allows for much greater control. I hang the actual dremmel motor on a pole.

Second is a foot pedal controller. To activate the dremmel, push down with your toe. It allows you to use it in short pulses as well as continuously. This makes it much more reliable working with plastic as it does not heat up as much and you can stop it melting the plastic with a little practice.



You can see the suspended dremmel and flex shaft on the right, and the footswitch peeking out from between the bitz boxes.

The only thing I use my Dremel for on plastic is to remove large areas with this-

Dremmels are the devils tools....
My dad used one to clean up a female vampire i had....now she looks like a tau vampire, HE REMOVED HER FACE!!!
