Broken as easy to learn and easy to win with yes. While I don't mind individual WBB rolls, it's the 2 Lords with resurection orbs, and auto ignore all the damage the assaulting unit caused and killed and teleport them fresh somewhere else to shoot up up the units they assault, and a host of other cheese. People will tell you that oh if they are taking a monolith and 2 lords they won't have numbers to stop Phase Out but it's bs because they always heal back the damage you do to them even when they do fail the WBB. The ONLY success I've had is if I can down the monolith early and kill thier lords ASAP, otherwise you can't win.

Really? Necrons are about the easiest army I face. Sure WBB is annoying, but doesn't get them the win.

Seriously?
Necrons got shafted when 5th edition came out. Even a soft fun list can take Necrons out without much of a problem.
They have almost no reliable anti-tank against vehicles with AV13-14. Gauss was awsome in 4th when a glance could actually wreck vehicles, but now it sucks(it takes 135 Gauss Flayer shots to down a vehicle with 3 weapons that isn't also opentopped)
Monoliths are good, very good, but why are you focusing on them? Go for Phase out(which isn't hard)
If Crons are giving you trouble, you are either playing Dash, or Dash equivilant, or more likely you are doing it wrong. I am 90% sure its the latter.

Either you're terrible to a level previously thought impossible or your opponents are cheating.

I dunno I down a necron if he is near two lords and the monolith, he gets that first +4, then another +4 and another from the second lord, and then even if I kill all but one of thier number, they can be teleported out of combat put somewhere else and have another shot at WBB. I don't know if my Chaos army is a 'dash' army persay, I do field Raptors, a Winged DP, and CSM's with 2 meltas and a Rhino but other then a second raptor squad that is my 'speed' element in large games where I encounter this problem more frequently I have a Dread with 2 CCWs, and full Las Pred and a few other things.

You are getting cheated. a Rez orb just allows the necrons to always make their WBB roll, it doesn't give them an additional roll. Thats what the monolith does, it gives a reroll if the WBB failed and you teliport through the portal.
If you are losing to Necrons, you really need to reconsider your tactics and unit choices.
And I don't belive it is legal to field a 2 DCCW dred with the chaos codex unless you are using some FW rules.

You're getting cheated. He gets one 4+ WBB at the start of his turn; the res orb allows him to roll that even if he was hit by something double his toughness or a power weapon, it doesn't give an extra roll. If you kill all but one of them in combat then they'll probably run away and you can sweep them, which kills all of them with no WBB including the downed ones.

What? The option is in the codex.

Problem with this thread. Just because the pictures match, doesn't mean the codex is right. Many codexes have 2nd printings of the same codex. Necrons for one, they have a 2nd printing with the same picture, but have different rules.

Yes I know it's hard to believe - SOMETHING in the chaos codex actually DOES have an OPTION.
The way to beat necrons relies on cc. If you beat them in hth and they break from combat, then you run them down and they're all dead. But you want to JUST win. If you knock down 10 guys, that's 10 guys that could get back up with WBB. If you knock down 4-5 and they run away, those other 5-6 just get taken off the board, never to return ever.
Also, you can try boxing in their monoliths. If you cover the entrance and make it so they can't move [immobilize one, or have more vehicles on other areas so they can't go anywhere] you can keep him from teleporting out of close combat.
Also, lash of submission is useful for pulling a unit of necrons out of range of the resurrection orb, and also for pulling them away from other necrons. If there's no necron model within 6" of the same type, or a tomb spyder, then they're toast.
Defilers might be good for you too. They're relatively difficult for necrons to bring down, and really make a mess of both warriors and monoliths. Try one of those to run alongside your dreadnought [has the additional bonus of making itself a target for your dreadnought if it fire frenzies, so nothing gets hurt by those bolters].

It's not a commonly fielded option, due to the limitations of the current CSM Dread kit... Short of buying a Forgeworld kit, it requires some extensive converting.

Chaos Dread starts with a close combat weapon and one additional arm from a list, one of the options on the list is another close combat weapon. Which is nice because its not as likely to kill many of your own units.
I just use space marine dreads, hate working with the metal monstrosity.
EDIT: Back on topic.
Would it be possible to include some information from each codex to help people confirm the book they have is the newest? such as the ISBN code on the back or the copy right, or if it says what edition the book is.
