Just so you know, Castrol doesn't own Super Clean anymore. Now it's just "Super Clean" no more "Castrol".

It's also not quick. Will still take 24 hours to work right.

If you want a quick stripper. Use jascos or naval paint remover. HUGE WArNInG both of those will eat plastic like it's candy. And can cause intense burns.

But I was able to strip battletech models in 20 mins (all lead or pewter)

So just in time, yesterday I received a pair of hive guard from ebay that needed stripping. I made sure to take some picture.

This is me first taking out them out. I put them into the solution last night at around 11:30. This picture was taken around 9:30 in the morning. About 10 hours. You can see that the paint has already started to peel away. Note that I am wearing a latex glove (no that is not my skin tone). This stuff is relatively caustic and will dry out your skin, but no serious burns though:

My brother couldn't seem to take an in focus shot, so thats the best I got.

Next up is Hive Guard number 1. He had literally less then one minute of scrubbing. The paint just falls away. I didn't get all of it off the base, so I did have to go back and touch that up:

Notice that the purple stuff does tarnish the metal. You could sand this off, but if you are going to paint over it, its not a problem.

And here is my bottle of super clean, along with the bucket I soaked them in (now with less hive guard!). Note the lack of "Castrol" on the bottle:

And finally the end product. Super Clean does eat super glue, so many of their limbs fell off. Make sure to plug up your sink while scrubbing. I had to go fishing in the garbage disposal for an arm:

And there you have it. Super Clean. I will say that these are metal figures (which strip easier than plastic), and they were just base coated, but this does illustrate how easy it is to use this stuff, and its effects.

I just used the Super Clean and MAN thats fantastic stuff.

I don't have any pics of what I did, but I stripped about 40 models total. basically my entire GK army. left them to soak for about 24 hours and then paint came right off with a light scrubbing.

very happy with the results. it pulled the basing off of my items as well.

wear safety glasses people! I am glad my glasses stopped this stuff from hitting my eye. also glad I was wearing gloves, its painful on the skin. watch for spatter too when you're scrubbing.

I've tried basic brown dettol (unperfumed) and it works great!. Also it's non caustic and non lethal and not all that expensive as it can be re used! It eats away all but the basecoat in about 30 mins, even brake fluid which is caustic and toxic as hell can take days.

Oh dettol you clean wounds, strip mini's and wash out mouldy lady parts (got tat last titbit from the flacon).
Dettol for president!

Sometimes the paint forms a sticky, old chewing gum like semi loose layer on the mini after being loosened by dettol, this only happens with very poorly (thick) painted plastic mini's
This is a pain to remove.
Does anyone know of a way of desolving/removing loose paint that's quicker then the toothbrush and toothpick method?
