In my apoc games that I play every few months at my house I usually a total redone set of rules that help to make apoc balanced and fun at larger point limits

We also use totally redesigned books for Tau, Eldar and my Renegade company along with dozens of special units

When playing friendly games we give a unit +1 BS when within Six inches of a vehicle, Monstrous creature, or suitably large model.
