I am very slow, because when I take my unpainted CSM I put much attention on details... Moreover, I have many figures unpainted still -.-

Im pretty fast compared to most people. I stuck on 2 seaosns of South Park one time and got done with 60 Steel Legion Guardsmen in one night. That was easily my craziest painting experiance.

Dark Angels 9500 Pts
Steel Legion IG 3500 Pts
Orks 2000 Pts
High Elves 2500 Pts

Depends... necrons under a week... Blood angels a lot more!

The issue is as my projects go on for AAGES (I finished salamdners I had started about 8 years ago) I am painting at a lower standard to 'match' the old scheme. It's annoying.

I find that you need to develop a plan/technique/guide and stick to it (within reason) so that the army looks uniform.

Well for blood angels, a normal marine is maybe 5 hours, special units are 8 hours, and heroes are a day each. I also suck so, lol my obsession for detail really can be a setback in time

Slowly. Very slowly. I have something around 3k points of models and in the roughly 3 years since I've started painting, I have less than 1/10 of those done.

I don't really play, so I don't have any real time constraints on "finishing" (in quotes, as I have no idea whether I'll expand my current collection or not). Because of that, efficiency doesn't really factor in to my painting, at all. If I worked at it with any effort, I'm more than confident that I could develop a method to achieve the same quality as I currently do in roughly half the time.

As it stands, I can't even tell you how long a single model takes me, as I almost invariably paint small batches (3-5 troops) over the course of several weeks. Sometimes I don't even pick up a brush for a month. The speed at which I paint is sluggish, to begin with. Couple that with the (in)frequency and (usually short) duration of my painting sessions and it's unsurprising that my models are mostly gray.

The first army I painted was 2000 points of the metal necrons when they 1st came out. I lost my patience with my friends because noone wanted to play until their armies were painted. Necrons took 2 days, I had to wait a month to play.

For me, I would say 1 10 man squad = 1 to 1 1/2 weeks.

A 10 Man Squad is usually a week for me, maybe 3-5 Days if my interest and motivation for 40k is high.

10 models a week roughly general troops
2-3 models a week Elite troops/HQ
1-2 Vehicles a week

This is assuming I have ample time, and am not too bogged down with work and or school

A long time.

I have a Landspeeder on the shelf I bought six months ago, have not started it yet.

Have I mentioned I do not care for the painting aspect of the game?

Gimme snap-tite models with pre-painted armor and I am set.

Lets play two!
