Uncanny, virtually the same as me, give or take a year - started painting in '85, used the minis as counters/tokens/avatars, call 'em what you like in P'n'P role-playing - WFRP,
DnD, Runequest etc etc... I had the rules for
RT and WFP (not sure which edition, but they came in a box with 3 separate books) but never played a game until I was 39 (last year)!
My goal for now is to have a couple of decent sized armies for each system painted up.
