Pastel chalks that I grinded down with a nailfile and applied with water. It's a lot "chunkier" then powders, but I like that patchy effect. They are then fixated using pastel fixative.

A full blog of the making for this army can be found on heresy online: http://www.heresy-online.net/forums/showthread.php?t=87436
It's a bigger blog to run through, but most things are covered in how it's made.
Thanks for the kind words btw folks.

Oh, neat - I'll have to try that sometime! Automatically Appended Next Post: e; as a secondary question, the red on your librarian's robes is really rich and has a lot of depth, what is it?

Just a mix of vallejo game colour gory red, blood red and a bit of shading by adding some black to the mix into the recesses. Nothing too special.

I'm doing a Dreadnight conversion based on a the Spanish GD winner 2 years ago now.
I've been busy doing commissions as of late, it'll be nice to expand my own army a bit as well

Yeah, I know... Kinda silly, but I left it as it is... It doesn't look too bad, and the damage to the mini to rectify it wouldn't be worth it.
