Where do they fail on good business practice? Their customer relations are good are they not? Is it that they make aftermarket parts for another company? Well loads of companies do that, now you may want to fuss about whether they have the right to do that, or if they are right in the manner in which they do it, but that is currently being put to the test and it's not looking bad for them.

What 'rigours of scrutiny'? Sounds like tough words, like to elucidate?

Rigours of scrutiny is essentially a term used to reflect an in-depth independent analysis of how your running your business.

The main areas I've felt they could have been a lot wiser was the way they named there products to avoid trademark conflicts as well as a diversification of there core products. Mainly to avoid potentially inviting litigation by essentially cocking a snook at GW, maxmini are a good example of this, lots of GW compatible parts but they are well named and distinct enough be a trickier proposition to tackle. Having a diversified product base would mean that any potentially contentious materials getting removed from sale would have a smaller effect on the stability of the business. Both micro art and maxmini have well diversified product bases as an example.

Very off topic but you asked so nicely.

Whoa! Passionate topic.

Just wanted to chime in and say:
#1 For those that did thanks for the compliments
#2 Oni, cheers for the link to the blog mate
#3 I appreciated the web team posting my work and when one facebook user commented about where I got the heads, instead of using their facebook page to mention another companies products I added the user and informed him personally with a link to the direct PIP head set.

I do appreciate them posting my work and while they might have overlooked it I will certainly not go out of my way to have it pulled down by actively mentioning other brands.

I kinda like the fact that they didn't mind posting it despite the head swaps and at the end of the day, 4.5 pounds for 20 heads from PIP isn't going to lose GW any business at all as you still need to buy the base scouts/vehicles to mount them on.

Unfortunately, GW doesn't think like that.

They are thinking;

GW: "ALL money in the world should be spent on GWs products......Don't you dare buy milk, a conversion kit that needs to be added to a GW kit or a new car. All you money are belong to us!!"

Customer: " But I need a full Land Speeder Storm kit to go with those heads, and a full Carnifex box to go with that conversion kit!?!"

GW: "ALL, I tell you!! ALL!!"
