Top table at Hardboys isn't the place to gain sympathy for not knowing a special rule.

If the opponent had asked "what does vect do?" than I feel that there's a duty to explain his rules, but if an opponent simply looks your list over and hands it back... how do you know what he doesn't know?

Yea, DE are totally broken.

That's why in game number 2 I got my but handed to me on a platter "battle"-wise and only won thru maneuvering and outplaying my opponent.

...and you still won. Realize how funny you sound trying to tell me you got your behind handles to you...and still won?

Well ok, I think they are more boring then broken, I am yet to see one single DE army that doesnt look roughly the same, 3 heavy boats and 8-12 additional boats. Everything mounted in boats, not one single mini on foot on the table but granted, those might be the rules that favor vehicles more then the codex itself.
I long for the old times where we saw more mixed armies with foot units as well and not just vehicle spam everywhere you see.

I think the biggest thing preventing foot armies is the cost of dark lances and the 1 per 10 limit on them.

2012- stopped caring
Nova Open 2011- Orks 8th Seed---(I see a trend)
Adepticon 2011- Mike H. Orks 8th Seed (This was the WTF list of the Final 16)

Beasts will be on foot. There are some units in 40k which just can't get shot out of place and the beasts will need to assault those.

Enjoyed the multi reports and reading about your Dark Eldar. Shame the armies you played against wasn't exactly 'ard..

Demonstrating my internet-psychic talent: The above poster does not play tyranid.

Well you'd be wrong. While I currently don't play Tyranids. I have played them. Additionally, most Tyranid players bitch about their codex...but fail to utilize the best units in that book to their fullest. But meh whatever.

You're too jaded by seeing internet lists. I have played all sorts of DE list builds that ranged from all mech to semi-mech to foot lists. My most successful list utilizes a unit (Mandrakes) that most of the internet community has dismissed as being terrible...yet I've only lost one game with that build. Also, most lists I see these days use beasts...which are on foot.

I see that you've never experienced winning a game thru tactics and controlling your opponent rather than how many guns you shoot or how many power weapons you can swing.

Victory conditions are there for a reason. It doesnt matter if you blow your opponent's entire army off the board, if you forget to get onto the objective.

My win's or losses have nothing at all to do with the relative strength of the codex. They have everything to do with my relative skill against my opponents this past weekend.

I have never failed to seize on 4+ in my life!

I would ignore Pyriel Deadshane. He's just a troll who doesn't like Dark Eldar. I had the same conversation with him sometime ago and he went from not liking spam to not liking vehicles to actually not liking Dark Eldar. I don't think Pyriel himself knows what he doesn't like.

I've given that some thought this morning at IHOP and I would like to see two changes for sure in 6th edition.

1. No more wound allocation tricks. Torrent of fire from 5th was good enough. It slows the game down way to much.
2. Crew Stunned results prevent the embarked unit from disembarking. (or maybe even any penetrating hit prevents the embarked unit from disembarking) That doesn't hurt the tank army, but it will have an impact on boatloads of troops embarked in transports. Assault armies can stun a vehicle and not have to face the unit inside on the next turn. Then there is a worry about getting surrounded and everything going away. It will be fine to have embarked units at a distance, but when the enemy gets close it becomes more dangerous to stay inside.

Rule no.2 will give Bugs and Daemons a boost when they fight against mech lists.

Personally I think the words "crew stunned" explain just fine why troops should be able to disembark. They aren't crew, they aren't concerned with maneuvering the vessel... and when the crew seems confused and upset, that sounds to me like the perfect time to get the hell out.

+1. Also with the troops inside now in the open they're prone to be shot and killed instead of hiding inside the tank and immune to small arms fire. Sounds like a fair trade to me, crew stunned the unit has to bail out and shoot or not at all. It also doesn't matter for assaulting units because if they assault the tank the troops inside maybe standing there next turn ready to shoot at them or if the troops get out the assaulting unit can multi assault the vehicle and troops.

Ah, right, you are the arrogant little kid that tried to convince me there is no such thing as "meta game".
lol

You are probably right about this, I envy you for using and meeting different DE builds.
I´m stuck seeing the same old mercer-crap-lists over and over again and it sucks because of the repetitive boredom of it all.

I would really like to hear more about your mandrakes and beast lists and how you do so well with those (by the way, something little mercer over here spend two whole pages of arrogant trolling trying to convince me is utterly impossible).
I would love to play against those armies and am even thinking of buying myself a DE army based on one of the themes mentioned by you. They seem very fun to use.

I see that you've never experienced winning a game thru tactics and controlling your opponent rather than how many guns you shoot or how many power weapons you can swing.

I see that you are the same old hypocrite as before trying to tell me what I do and dont do.
To bad since we both know that the other person is a stubborn bastard so the potential for some really interesting discussions is there, at least if one can ignore arrogant troll posts like mercers.

Cool idea. That or the opposite, forcing them to unass. Something making mixed foot-transport lists more viable.

The funny thing about Pyriel's entire argument is that complains about how all dark eldar builds all look 'roughly the same', whilst playing Grey Knights.

I actually laughed out loud at that one.

And for what it's worth, beasts are actually one of the top units in the Dark Eldar dex. A beast list is very viable.

you probably don't care, like i don't care about any of your worthless troll comments. i might be trolling here but we all know you're the original troll, you like posting one sentence rude, nasty and pointless comments and when you get a reaction you don't like you cry like a biatch. everyone can play what army list they like it has zero to do with you troll. if you don't like certain lists don't post and end up getting hassle for your troll comments. did you ever consider loads of people run venoms because they are awesome, or is it because or copying? you probably didn't. if anyone run a pure raider list you would cry. hell you even say other lists exist but fail to back your argument up by showing said lists, major weak sauce.

The only person stuck here is you up your own ass as you're a ignorant teenager. love it how you play grey knights and call me a powergamer lol you don't even know me, dark eldar or what powergaming is. you're purely a ignorant troll who cannot take the heat when you start talking bullcrap, you can't take the heat stay out the kitchen as trolls will get burnt.
