emperors_champion:Thanks Emperors_champion, I have some fire warriors ready to paint so I will get them done after this guy. I still have one more battle suit to paint but I will probably get the fire warriors done first.

Man these are looking awesome the red is great and I really dig the bases, though I do agree with everyone else in saying that some shire would do well to break it up a bit. But other wise great work so far.

Mandrake Wk: thanks I agree 100% about the red, I think some white really needs to be added to the mix.

So many of you will have noticed that I changed the name of the blog, this is not because I am stopping tau but more or less because I am painting other stuff and I thought that I should show them off as well.
Disjointed Entity: Thanks I might create a tutorial soon.

So I finished the kill team today. Two days of solid painting produced this, I wanted to go for a really warn and battered squad. I feel as though this squad tells a story, this squad has been on extended tour, probably for a couple of months. They haven't seen resuply in three weeks, and are fighting their way back to imperial territory. As some of you with keen eyes will of noticed there are no highlights, I wanted to make this squad look as real as possible so highlights were the first thing to go. Don't get me wrong I love highlights, but they just don't look all that realistic.

How did you achieve the nice mix? Drybrush?

Thanks disjointed entity, I used weathering pigments and sponges to create the mix. Some of the effect happened by accident, but with damage it is ment to be sporadic and accidental so I am happy with it. Do you want me to post a tutorial?

That battlesuit looks incredible! Really nice work.

I would also be interested to see how you painted those marines as you have indeed achieved a very realistic battle damage!
