I would suggest as a general rule for any company wanting to advertise their minis: Don't use camouflage as your primary colour scheme! By all means show alternate pics in cam, but use something a little more eye-friendly for the pics that everyone is going to see first...

These minis aren't great by today's standards, but they're a lot better than these pics would seem to suggest.

Yeah, I don't like to bash other's paintjobs, but from an advertising perspective, it would be better if just left bare and inked than painted as they have been..

Compare the painted "shock sisters" to the unpainted on the previous page and it's pretty obvious.

Oct 19th A whole slew of Tribal Elves. Originally called Vengequan, these would make great Ratskins or other sci-fi native americans and could find a home in the various wierd wild west games currently avaialble. There's a nice bulk deal of 20 figs for 38 bucks!

The individual figs and pics are here: http://freeboardgamesnow.com/sciencefictiontribalelves.aspx

Here's a couple of closer pics

Should have done this earlier, but here's a blog showing some of the Trooper figs (among others) I bought recently from Mega.

They'd really, really need to be.

A waste at $38, maybe reduce by 50% and you would get more sales.

It's a personal judgment of course, but I'd say that based on the pics in my blog post, they are alot better. What do you think?

Centurionpainting wrote:A waste at $38, maybe reduce by 50% and you would get more sales.

Really? $1.90 per fig ($38/20, assuming you're looking at the elves bulk deal) isn't cheap enough already? You can't sell a new metal "heroic" 28mm fig for less than that and still make any money.

I'm not saying these figs are state of the art, but they're quite good figs and cheaper than almost anything else currently available. Is GW selling any metal guardsmen figs for $2.38? (the price for one of the troopers shown earlier). No, their cheapest metal guardsmen pack comes out to 3 times as much (7 bucks) per fig!

I actually think they paint up pretty nicely. Base coat, wash, rehighlight with original colour, one highlight. Done.

And they're cheaper than GW's plastic Cadians.

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better.

I have a few of these from back in the day - I actually ran some demo games at my FLGS for Shaodwforge, and so got a few of the figures gratis in exchange for my demo-ing.

They really aren't that good. The ratskins are decent, but others like the IG-alikes weren't up to the standards of the metal IG at the time, nor were the orks (some of which were godawful) and the nuns were and still are terrible.

The weapons packs were decent, as some looked enough like the GW versions that they could pass muster - the Grenade Launchers specifically.

I honestly can't see the value in buying any of these (Ratskins excepted), unless you're on some kind of anti-GW-miniatures kick but still want to play IG. Even then, there's so many other better options these days.

Some of the early sculpt troopers. These don't actually originate with Demonblade games, most/all of these were sculpted by Grenadier miniatures for their "K-Force" line of figures that was almost completely made up of 40k proxyable figures. The line was purchased and expanded upon by Demonblade in the 90's/
10 figs 16 bucks, but not available separately.

Word from Megaminis is that weapons packs and HW with gun carriage (like metal IG have) will be up on the schedule for the summer!

IIRC, they had vehicles for Shockforce. Who has those resin monstrosities these days?

Those indian dudes look great with a good paint job. I have a few from back in the day. the metal is pretty soft, but all in all good filler troops for what games you.

I think this line has some real charm. Definitely show their vintage with their deep details and less serious appearance. Their deeper detail makes them really easy to paint though. Simple and fun is pretty much what these are about.

A batch of weapons and parts. The weapons pack is a re-release and the individual parts are mostly from a "Atrocitor Mark IV Thuggernaught" walker kit that has not been re-released yet. Most a buck or less each. Unfortunately no scale pics, but they do give the length in each individual listing. I used to have the autocannons and I know they scale up pretty well with the GW versions.

The section for all the various parts is here:
http://freeboardgamesnow.com/sciencefictionpartsshop.aspx

I may have to pick up a few of those guns for some mechs and post apoc cars I'm working on.

The original Atrocitor was a knock-off of the ork Dreadnought, so the weapons scale pretty well with Ork heavy weapons.

The arms, buzzsaw and autocannon can be sort-of seen on my C3POrk Killa kan here:

I also have that buzzsaw on a Nob as a powerklaw.

Very cool! I've not seen the parts used on other models before. The one on the left is the Original Demonblade version right?

I had the second variant of the thuggernaught. After they came to the attention of GW, they re-released it with the same arms and weapons, but different torso and legs. Sort of a two-seater sentinel.

Still would like to see a rerelease of the GWAR game.

These guys really take me back to a time when the shelves were full of differnt companies stuff.

Miss this game a little. Glad to see someone doing something with them, though.

As a recommend, if you want ratskin renegades, or a scratch squad of mixed and matched, ala dirty dozen/ last chancers these guys fit the bill. (Just saying.)
