He fits fairly well using Lysander's rules, right? I converted mine (25th anniversary marine, Devastator non-helmeted hair, plasma pistol switched with regular pistol. He looks decent, now I just have to paint him. Put him on a terminator base and use Lysander's stats (also a captain, bonus!!) and he should be quite usable.

The captain in the list will just be mine own created one for the 600point one and then when my list goes up going use someone like lysander or Pedro

Well I used captain cortez tonight lasted 3 turns on his own again a 570point unit.

Cortez is great. I've got the Games-day model that they roughly based on him. He is truly bad-ass, and the rumours about his invincibility are great too.

Well today cortez did me proud again.
Slaying 14 horrors and blue scribe.
and him and his sterngaurd slaughtered 3 gaurdsmen lasscannon teams too.

After a very very long time I have at last chosen the model for him,

I've taken to using Lysander as Cortez. Background is similar, and Lysander's rules fit very well. The only real issue is that he's in terminator armour, but I've got that covered as well. He disappeared in the webway years ago, and now he has returned (minus his weapons and armour). Being close friends with Pedro, he's been given command of the Crimson Fists 2nd Company (instead of removing the current captain of the 4th), and re-equiped with terminator armour and an old chapter relic hammer.

Have you painted him crimson too?

Hey Ultimate Muscle, have you been running your Captain Cortez with his original rules or are you using him with regular captain rules or another character?

Also, I liked the gut shield on your old captain. You should keep him around or put a shield on the new one too. Very ogre-esque.

I run cortez as:
Captain and power fist
BUT if the point limit high I use
Captain
Power fist
storm shield
artifcer armour

My Mate dont mind him not having a sheild its self.
yet :p


yes still got the old captain. He be going in tactical squad when my points limit increases.

He currently just has a black undercoat, but I plan on painting him in the Blue & Crimson as soon as I finish with my sternguard.

nice freehand brother. Well the rest of my marines are coming on really well aswell. I got my airbrush and they are flying out.
