The small group of volunteers still stand near the T-junction, peering into the darkness, but not seeing anything.

In character:

Scavenging for any scrap metal, the combat engineer called 'Engineer' (OOC: what a lovely sentence..) threw everything he found in a box. 'Might come in handy later.'
'Hey, that seems some lose mtal on that wall!' Grabbing his wrench happily, he smashed on the metal, and pulled it out, and broke it in pieces. Behind it was wiring. 'Does anyone know where this leads?'
