Um yeah, the AA12 was badass, the armed sentry robots he had in development were superbadass. He also has a full auto silenced m-16 machine pistol that has been modified to have no recoil to mount on the robots, unbelievably cool.

That modified version looks very good.

That said, on the flip side I am kind of appalled that the default configuration of the kit does not fit properly.

I know the original designer posts on Dakka so I don't want to sound harsh but the way the kit lines up with minor modifications make me wonder if when sculpting the back sides of the panels that maybe it was mis-aligned by about 1/8th of an inch and it wasn't caught till molds had been cast. It is such a nice kit after re-cutting the alignment blocking on the back of the side panels.

Perhaps the issue is more that this assembly has them too far forward, and that they would be better placed overlapping the back of the tank. I could believe that.

Look at my blog posts when aligned from the top rear going forward the panels basically line up with the existing front of the chimera chassis. That's what makes me think it might have been a production issue when making the master model.

I have 37k points of unpainted armies that will probably get a higher priority on the to be painted list vs my necromunda stuff. But mine is at least primed now.

Yes, but it is hard for me to believe that the final product being too long AND the wrong angle... was just some sort of production problem?

It sounds to me like they just straight up fethed up. I honestly have no idea how.

Actually, that combined with how the sides are not flush make it seem like a hap-dash moment to get a APC fixed up. Like this is all they had, so they had to make do with what they could.
If that was your original intention, then all I am really doing is putting it into words.
If not...then I just gave a good reason for it
