Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

The human colonisations
The human colonisations are humans who want to attempt to bring Mechanical industry into magic (or Magiko as it is called on the forgotten world) and spread their "generosity" on the world...
With their zepplin navy and hulking beamoth of tanks, and the endless legions honour gaurd (the basic troops) armed with rifles If they want something they will get it...
Thats all I have thought up on humans but I know for fact I want Them to be steam punk like hell.
They control Europe

Humans need more factions, I would go with three major factions and any number of minor factions. The three major factions can balance against each other neatly via the political triangle, i.,e. of one gets two powerful the other two gang up and bring it back down.
This means that 1) The factions are both enemies and allies as needed, keeping the balance between them flexible. This game has enough inveterate enemies, you need casual ones. 2) This set up opens up the political scene, good intrigue, good dialogue. You arent going to be doing anything but fighting or running from spiders and demons, you need someone you can spy on, double cross, trade with, cheat and all the other things we do with casual enemies and 'allies'.

The other two human factions should be somewhat similar, one identical in technology but with ideological differences, the other with a similar ideology but a unique technology structure.
Things like an anti-tech faction could be added as one of many background factions, there asglobval curiosities, not superpowers. Their presense doesnt effect the balance of power much, but adds to the background.

the Archid legions of under-earth

beneath the earth's crust there lies an insidious horror only known as the Archid legions half-spider, half-human all they want is to consume every living things blood they share NO emotion to the upper races and armed to the teeth with their web-guns to ensnare the enemy and enjoy feeling the terror of the prey before consuming them.
They control the inner crust of the earth.
I know that I definitely want these to be centred on spiders and Frankenstein-evolution they all take.

I like this, it should be fairly original and has a horror edge, similar in effect but distinctive from mythos or chaos. They need maggot monsters to dig their tunnels, or do they use mole machines? Only thing I have to add.

The angels

The angels only come when the forgotten world is most threatened, only there angelic mounts of dragons and flying chariots ensure the world stays peaceful and equal.
They live in the sky (obviously)
I want these to be warrior angels I Dont know what else to add to them.

Perhaps these angels are humans that have advanced enough to become non corporeal beings, they return to the forgotten world to defend their 'kin' they have left behind. Long ago before all recorded history by the human colonies the angels split off from the bulk of humanity and became immortal and spiritual. the reason humans exist is because when this process occured a large number of humans decided that 'dying' and becoming a ghost was not for them, the human colonies are descended or related to these people. Eventually a corporeal high tech society decayed or was destroyed, but the spiritual post human 'angel' society lived on. Perhaps they brought the colonists to the forgotten world to escape the calamity, perhaps it was caused by human neglect and greed perhaps by aliens, perhaps the same 'demons' now assaulting the surface.
They remain strictly neutral in all discourse between aquatics and humans. They are in general isolationists, but demon incursions change that quickly. They care but know better not to involve in human faction disputes, even if they devolve into brutal wars, but will intervene if a faction looks like it is going down and appear from nowhere and in great numbers when the race as a whole is threatened.

The balefire of the centre

Inside of the earth where it is hottest The bale fire as they are called are monstrous rock-magma daemons that all there intention is to raze the forgotten world into a lava-like paradise, armed with brute strength and the element of lava and endless Artillery they want to ensure their only purpose is for-filled.
I want these to be like rock-magma daemonic like gargoyles with some lava artillery.

Lava artillery is possible, but they seem to me the opposite of paratroops, emerging from the ground anywhere. You need to have a form of warding or certain rock types they cannot burrow through. You could take the classic hell approach of hell being subterranean and extra dimensional both
They could be an evil/morlock version of the angels listed below, I like the ideas they are just a form of non corporeal alien that being another non corporeal race, being non corporeal
they consider themselves as sharing territory with the 'angels', they fought a war and lost and were cast down from orbit and live under the earth. This entered various i texts of subsequent human civilisations. They have a hate on for the angels, and on finally learning that the humans and the angels are kin wish to vent their anger on the humans. They probably only found that out fairly recently possibly due to intrigues of the spiders. Turning the surface of the earth to lava is not a motive, just a means to an end, and one even possibly beyond them. They will try though, try until every last human dies trying to breath a searing atmosphere.
The spiders are not real competition, but if they get in the way....

These are the army's I have thought of so far I'm trying to invent a sea-monster race controlling the seas.

When humanity diversified, some people became aquatic and migrated to the sea. Why would anyone do that, perhaps they did not want to. Perhaps the ancient human societies became so decadent they needed the oceans resources and genetically modified slaves to farm and mine the oceans for them. The salves rebelled and when the ancient human society fell the angels saved a portion of the slave race too.

Your sea monsters are aquatic humans, gills, webbed feet able to survive above and below the surface, they also have animals genetically bred to help them, some very large some amphibious. Perhaps some of the warrior beasts were first bred by the aquatic human slaves for when they first rebelled against the ancient human society.
The aquatic humans know their past and do not forgive or forget some of the surface factions, they get on with the 'angels' of course. The sea beats and monsters they control via empathy, to the human colonists they are savage but they direct their monsters with a please and a smile, and are concerned for their welfare for reason of their past history the aquatics will make salves of noone man or beast.
The human colonists with some exception, most notably shore based minor factions lack the historical memory the aquatics have, all they see are aquatic men and women, some ugly immensely strong but stupid lizard men (originally bred as deep sea miners), some elfin beautiful green skinned people (bred as overseers and kelp farmers) and fast sleek 'merfolk' more heavily finned and webbed(bred as fish herders, they are p). All have legs all are capable of walking ans well as swimming, only the most human of them are truly intelligent, the bruter ones have little imagination as it was not needed for their roles and to cushion them against a sense of loss because of what they are. The overseer race can and occasionally do breed with humans, occasional human ancestry in their opinion improves the genetics and helps preserve the land connection.

The beasts they ride or control range from six legged whales (leviathans) used as amphibious tanks, kraken - which make excellent for construction as well as destruction but are unable to operate on land, shark packs, four legged runner amphibious 'shark' packs (design note, there is your nid/zerg army right here). They also have immense sponge like creatures big enough to absorb and filter pollution and form mobile ecosystems and bases, habitat globes cover the upper surface, favoured humans are occasionally allowed to visit or even live there. Humans visit via transport globes

It doesn't look like they have much technology, but they aren't backward, mostly biotech users. Monsters replace vehicles, but not guns. Avoid tyranid like bioweapons, give them spearguns instead, they manufacture their own explosives, and import energy weapons from friendly factions.
They have a weed based textile industry, they also have means of growing modified trees to harvest timber underwater. Aquatic timer and textile products can be of high quality, especially when the aquatics import machinery of human manufacture. Think of their habitat globes as much like our own homes, not coral caveman hovels dripping with seaweed, portions are dry and as comfortable as any human hotel.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion. By the juice of the brew my thoughts aquire speed, my mind becomes strained, the strain becomes a warning. It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion.

Yes, yes they do and just a thought I had.

When an angel is known as deceased or when they touch the earth (they cant touch it because it is impure from other monsotorus factoins) they transform into stone avatar of their former self...

So what do you all think?

Edit: in bold is what I most liked.

This is a very interesting topic. One which I will be following.I would like at some point in time to release a game based on the miniatures which I have released so far.Topic's like this will come in very handy for idea's.
Creating a whole world is a very daunting thing to do.Then trying to populate it is even harder.
I like the idea of starter games being skirmish one's to start with. That way people can get into them for very little money. Then expanding the game to bigger battles is the way I would like to go.
These types of projects seem to have a mind of their own. Then the snowball effect comes into play.

Like you say the elements are all around us, so the Idea is that they have there own dimension they live in, but since they are your Idea you go with the flow on them But when you have made a bit of fluff please report to me so if there is anything to flesh (or edit) out I will do so.

Got to suggest: why not make it so that certain factions are in blood fueds, and can throw a lot of troopers at each other (and I'm talking apocalypse-style points)?

start off with small skirmish baed game then escalate (it will be eaiser, as it runs through my mind)

Also what I was thinking with the statue idea is that after a long time when they are in there deceased state, they vanish and return back to there own relm (and essentaly reborn).

I would like if they touched the ground they became sort of like the weeping angels on Doctor Who (they always made me my boxers) it could be just for fluff though unless you added them in but as a new faction. You could make it so in the fluff once they become stone they need power to revert back to their angel form. But the angels exile them and do not allow them back as they have killed when it was not neccesary an have succumbed to the temptation of the earth (they tryed to walk/touched the floor for something like a desire (kinda like eldar)).

In the stone form it could be kinda like being condemmed to a life worse than death (well duh there angels they cant die silly me) but sort of for some reason to them because of there nature, it is a constant hooror and they are no longer there magestic selves.

Well I still want them to be angels but not another army (In my head they have died but are turned ito a statue that can never move and after the battle, because of there "supernatural" energy they get transported back to their dimension to be reborn).

Update:

I have just play tested the basic rules with Ihatenids and I have to say even with only 1 squad each, it was fast-paced and brutal which is what I wanted to achieve so Yey go me

Now I Just have to make special rules explain how Hit point allocation works in a clearer way. Make deployment scenarios and make army books for races then send a PDF do everyone involved for further playtesting, then fix up what wrong with it then release as a full PDF.

Hi guys and lasses, Update (sorry for the wait):

-The damage for the minis have been sorted
-I have done playtesting with the rules and it has been successfully so far (although I think im gonna need more minis to be sure)
-my drawing skills have gotten slightly more better and have created a few more units

Now I have more fluff:

The Malisk: I was thinking on giving the Necromancers different paths to follow such as the following:

Path of the:

-Vampirism: path to turning into a vampire
-Flesh crafting: path of the zombie
-Path of the wolfen: path of werewolves
-Path of the Ethereal: path of ghosts
-Path of the Abnormal: Path to controlling freaks, and co. (but I Dont know if this path should go into flesh crafting)

also was thinking about a race in the Amazon such as tree infantry + monsters, oversized jungle critters (such as dragonfly's, scorpions etc), BIG crocodile cavalry and dinosaurs... would this sound appealing for an army?

Also this leads to america... I was thinking a land of living scrap metal, the stuff that the Colonisationalists throw away because the are non-reusable or secret weapons that were thrown away because they were not as effective as they wanted them to be, and have been given life from Magiko manifest... Dunno if this would be an army people would like to play as though? also if any one wants to hear more fluff, just post here and I will make some more (while im on my holidays ).

Also must apologise for the wait, exams have been getting in the way for me to be getting on with this project...
