However, if you are running chimeras, leave the Voxes at home, becuase you will rarely use them. The points are better spent on weapons.
Well, more info is always better! Automatically Appended Next Post: You can join up to 3 infantry squads together, and will from then on be counted as a single unit.
Which is why commands are very useful with blobs. You use only 1 command, and you can get 30 guys with FRFSRF.

A blob squad is when you take 2-5 squads from the same platoon to form one unit 20 to 50 men strong.
A blob squad REQUIRES atleast 1 Commissar to make them stubborn, and boost the Ld to 9.
You can then go 1 of 2 ways, either fire support by giving them Heavy Weapons with either Plasma Guns or Grenade Launchers. Sit, camp, shoot profit.
Or you can go Assault based. Giving every Sgt and the Commissar a PW, adding a MG, maybe Melta Bombs and if your feeling spicy a Priest. You then run them to the enemy and tie them up in a see of bodies with 24 re-rollable power weapon attacks on the charge and 3 re-rollable Evicerator weapon attacks. All hitting at St 4 and St 6 respectively, and at Initiative 4.

A yes, thats right. I forgot that you could put all 5 squads together. I just remembered that 2-3 is about how many you want usually.

I personally like a bit more, my blobs are regularly 41, 42 or 51, 52, 53. Depending on if I have the points for a second commissar if I run 5 squads, and if i have points for a priest. Very few units can chew through that over 3+ turns and come out on top...

Yeah. Taking Al'rehem would be cool too, because then you can have 50 Powerblobs outflanking next to the enemy.

Vox casters are useful if you plan on blobbing up your platoons. You only need to buy one vox caster for the entire platoon (and one for the commander of course) for the blob squad to gain the benefit. Even with a comissar, orders can be failed and failing an order at a critical time can be very bad. Its a small price to pay to ensure your squads are listening.

Yeah, 10 points to make sure that you get that command off.
