Zweischneid wrote:Colour is the Visual Percpetion corresponding to the biological properties of the human eye and brain under the circumstances of the specific (most likely unique) light-spectrum of earth's sun.
Change the biological properties of the eye or brain (alien species, genetic tinkering), and the perception of colour changes.
Change the available light-spectrum (travel to a system with a sun different than earth's (Terra's) sun) and the peception of colour changes.
The colour of blood seen by a human watching a Tau bleed on Terra will be very different from the colour of blood seen by an Ork (or possibly even a Space Marine) watching a Tau bleed on a different planet under a different sun.
Well that's very accurate an' all, but we're talking 'bout painting a Tau miniature's blood, I repeat, a miniature.
As such I would paint it whatever colour you want, unless there are sources such as that posted Veldrain.
Otherwise, I really like the miniature

Then Horus comes across the lone grot, somehow managing to kill the Emperor, and punts it into space. |

Not anymore, that got retconned way back in 3rd edition because they realised it looks rubbish painting green blood on green skin.
The consensus now is that Ork blood is VERY dark red, almost brown-ish due to the high haemoglobin count.

Sure. I'd go even further than that. Given the properties described above, it is perfectly possible to have source "X" testify that they've saw Ork bleed green and Tau bleed pink on planet "A" and source "Y" testify that they saw Ork bleed red and Tau green on planet "B". Both could be correct and, on yet a third planet, totally wrong again as Orks there may bleed white and Tau bleed red.
In short... go with what looks cool!

I completely agree with you here!

Why are a bunch of people arguing about different light spectrum from different stars and the effects of different atmospheres, Unless I've been lied to all my life -well most of it anyway- we're using the World Wide Web not the Galaxy Wide Web or even Solar System Wide Web. That said we are -I'm assuming- all humans and are all on earth which means the "colors look different on different planets" thing is irrelevant as we are not on a differant planet and if you could take the models there I'm sure they'd look different. On a separate note, It occurs to me bleeding Orks have a Christmas color theme, Guess emo Orks are a bit more cheery than emo humans and Nice model!
