I feel like the lone wolf on this one, but I can't, for the life of me, find anything attractive about this style landraider. Looks like a pile of gak to me, but hey, that whole "eye-of-the-beholder" thingy kicks in.

Three things..


1) The armored proteus looks great and is very tempting.

2) Why are they thanking codex pictures? I didn't see any poorly animated, muddy backgrounds in the video so I doubt they produced it.

3) Its strangely comforting to see that mullets are still en vogue with GW designers 20 years after their debut in White Dwarf.

I really like the look of that, but i refuse to spend that much on one tank, £85 just takes the piss.

Oh, dang you are right. It actually looks like there are quite a few kits missing from the Space Marine Tanks page since the last time I looked.

But hopefully it is just a QC issue that will be fixed. I watched a video review on youtube of someone installing the MKIIb conversion kit and they said it was a huge pain in the arse to actually get it to fit on the tank :( So hopefully it gets fixed and put back up for sale.

They went sans ramp because the old LR has none, either. I like it, for one thing it makes old Land Raiders into WYSIWYG representations of a legal unit again.

I have to say as someone who had 2 mIIb pre-heresy style land raiders from FW (still have 1) they were a mess. My friend I sold the 2nd one to, couldn't fit the back engine and some other pieces and had to completely kitbash it to even get it looking decent. The only thing he was really able to properly utilize, were the sponsons, which kinda suck to. :(

Ah, yeah, before I saw your reply I shot an email off to FW just to inquire, the response was along the same lines, that there was molding problems and that they would have them for sale again soon.

Looks ok but I much prefer the current Land Raider look. This one looks more like a toy tank and the tracks are less attractive. That's me though and I completely see how most do like it but I myself prefer the current GW ones. Still cool

How, exactly? The rules for the Proteus have no assault ramp. The model for the Proteus has no assault ramp.

Is Forge World sticking with the same rules entry for both the regular and armored Proteus? I guess you can use the standard proteus without any upgrades for the normal version and have the armored one have advanced ceramite and extra armor... but I was expecting a bit more variety between the two, with the stock version be more advanced sensor wise but less armored. Either way, the models both still look cool and are workable with the presented rules.
