You might wanna double check your fluff - http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Grey_Knights#Recruitment - most noticeably this bit;

"Upon success, the recruit also has the majority of their memories and personality erased1, to better ensure their absolute and unwavering loyalty to the Emperor."

"During training each recruit is designated a number to be referred by, and only upon completion of training are they given a new name; they must discard their original birth name and be given a new one. "

So he wouldn't be very...Space Wolf, nor likely to have a Fenrisian style name. But if you want Nordic names... http://www.babynamebox.com/norse-baby-names.html

I appreciate your help here, but according to the codex fluff (which is more important to me as it is official cannon) not all Grey Knights have their memories wiped. Fenris is also a perfect candidate world as it is harsh and breeds tough, honorable and loyal warriors.

His name I suppose you could simply say was skeined as a name of power, by the sages who gave him his new name, that connects him to the legacy that is a fenrisians heritage and would manifest in him a name that would be written in the hall of champions, and join the very greatest of the order.

I wasn't intending for him to have a fenrisian or "space wolfy" name, mearly a part of his name that is nordic or germanic to allude to his heritage. And as this guy is a Grand Master he is by no means a recruit with a numerical designator.

So far the name I am most fond of is: Grand Master Geirolf Adojanus

The point is to have people, whose community I am supposed to be part of, get involved in the creation of a story for a model. Its almost like you had something worth while to say... and then I read what you said and realized you didnt.

How bout you come back when you have something constructive to add to this thread, as opposed to your completely ignorant opinion of me, and the reason I am playing grey knights.

Well as one other and I stated on another guy who wanted to be a salamander gk that it doesnt work that way. GK are mind wiped and chosen from the black ships not random planets. He wouldn't know a thing about Fenris anymore. He wouldn't display any sw like behavior. He wouldn't wear their decor. It just doesnt work out that way unless you spun a story like Counter did when Alric when into the Eye and had his psy shield etc supressed by a collar of khorne. When his mind got probed by a daemon trying to possess him he had faint memories of a world he grew up on. If he displayed sm worthy traits on Fenris the SW woulda snagged him up. Also dont get so offended because someone doesnt like your precious idea.. In the real world it's bound to happen.

The enemy of my enemy is a bastard so lets kill him too.

Winner way would be to go with Big McLargehuge or Punch Rockgroin; nothing else will instill terror into the enemies as much as the titles of Reb Brown

Serious styles; Thanator Singrin. They sound germanic and nordic, respectively, to me, but I could be wrong.

I also have to echo the poster Draigo's opinion; the characters seems a little hodgepoge-y.
It would be like an Ultramarine Captain who kinda decided he liked the Black Templar esthetic and started wearing a tabard.

Overall, I'm glad i got to see people take criticism like adults and people give it in an eloquent manner...

You love it you slags!

I live and work in the real world, Draigo. According to the Grey Knights codex 2011, mind wiping the neophite Grey Knight isnt a blanket action. It is done to most not all. The codex expressly states that the complete memory loss is not universal. So it is still quite likely that the neophyte may not lose his memory at all. The Grey Knights would only wipe him if they deemed it necessary.
And its because he has space marine worthy traits AND psychic power that the grey knights would have swooped in and snatched him away from the Space Wolves.
And thanks for you life advice, now if only I was irate with your "dislike of my precious idea" and not the condescending self righteous attitude you have displayed from your first post to me on.

Try Nordic.

Did I say he was a space wolf ? Hes a grey knight who was selected from fenris and still retains memories of his young life there, not even close to being a space wolf... other than me using bits for him

Kinda funny you latch onto my statement but havent raged at people giving you silly name cause its obvious they care as much as I do loll Though I decided to delve more into the fluff of the new book and on pg 6 there is a small section about names and it states that after the conditioning they are unlikely to too remember anything. So for your guy I guess hes the 1 percent and even though I think it's a bit silly I'll concede there is an off chance.

I have no desire to rage at every person who thinks they are being clever by giving me names like "stroker gently" and other such tripe. I am not even raging at you. However I am frustrated at the level of condensation and utter self righteous assumption you have leveled at me in every one of your posts on this thread. Atleast the rest of the ... "jokers" ....here can say they were just being silly.

As to unlikely, if it said extremely or even highly unlikely, I would have dropped this idea from the get go, but it didn't. It simply said it was unlikely. And with 1000 members, the unlikely hood that at the very least, 1 individual Grey Knight could remember his past isn't to to far fetched, and also kind of irrelevant as the individual has absolutely no say over what their new name is.
