Being an Eldar and Orc Player, I have to say with experience with Buggies and War Walkers at AP10, you will be surprised at how many times those pesky bolters ruin your day on the AP 10, but I agree if they survive they are not locked in combat and can fly away the next turn. Cheers

Utter Chaos.

I now call them deff skwadron

I have tested 5 koptas with big bomms and nothing else about 20 times to get a feel for how effective it is. 5 koptas + 5 Big Bomms = 250points

The Kopta uses the big template and only 1D Scatter (but do not subtract your BS-FAQ's) AND can turbo boost and drop them.

on average I inflicted ~20 wounds with 5 koptas. This should leave 6-7 dead marines.

Since you can drop the Bomms even during turbo boost, you will get a 3+ cover save the next round when they try to shoot them out of the sky. Next round you have no bombs, but you can shoot and asault. It's pretty deadly, but not cheap at 250 points, if you get very unlucky on the scatters you might only kill 1-2 marines(and waste alot of points), if you get really lucky you can kill a full squad with the Bomms.

Sad thing is, once your opponent gets wind of their LD value, they will be running away next turn. Stupid rhinos/chimeras/wave serpent all being able to tankshock. Nowadays I'm usually satisfied with trios, doesn't hurt as much when your roll 18" for your fall back move... twice

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.

Yeah, pretty much after they drop the bombs, still don't expect them to be around much longer. The bomms are not really point efficient vs marines and have the possibility of being a complete waste. VS Tyranids, the big template and and the swarm rule makes them good because of the 1d6 scatter , but for the price you could just bring buggies with flamers which would probably be just as good if not better.

Which raises another good question, how many of you use flamer buggies? It would seem with the kan wall +KFF thing, flamer buggies up front could be devastating honestly, the Kans give you BS3 Rokkits, why not make your buggies flamers.

Aren't bad, but orks don't exactly struggle against hordes, so skorchas are kind of dull. That, and nob bikers with kombi-skorchas probably do the job better.

I have made to "burna buggies" as I call them out of a couple lanspeeders. They can be neat, and when I do run them, I use them as basically an add on to a boyz mob. Ill just hang them back near the boyz mob, and then when its close to assault time, Ill zip them up, and flame the unit before assaulting. They work ok to useless. Mainly depending on what your playing against. I still prefer my rokkits, they are a guaranteed kill where as the templates allow alot of saves.

Last time I played burna buggies they all got shot to pieces The only bonus was the fact my trukks weren't targeted. Besides that, they can work but I think it'll require some clever trickery to keep them alive.

As for Deffkoptas, I never liked them. The whole buzzkopta trick I think is more a gimmick with a large chance of failure rather than a sneaky trick to take out something nasty. I prefer warbikers really - lots of shots, more wounds, smaller footprint, still just as fast and dead killy in CC.

Agreed. Infact thats pretty much exactly how I look at them. If I want to pull of a sneaky trick that is pretty much guaranteed to work, use Snikrot and crew and stick a boss of some kind with them. Unless it gets blown to smithereens right when they pop up, your going to blow the gak out of some back field targets. If Im going to just use my koptas to tie up or disrupt the enemy, Ill just grab the rokkit buggies. Sure they cant assault, but you can easily just BLOCK entire sections of the table from units
