Cool deathmask look on the Overlord. And the greenstuff work is top notch! So now that we know what the higher-ups look like, are you going to work on any warriors at all?

I'm not planning on fielding warriors at the moment, my troops are pretty much solely going to be comprised of footslogging Immortals with cryptek backup. That might change, though. For warriors I'll probably keep it simple, just do the shoulder armor and weapons in red.

Finished up the Overlord. I'm actually kind of liking him more than the other one now, he's got that whole unique more-ancient-than-the-other-guys look going on.

First time I tried to do lava, too. And the freehand turned out pretty nicely.

I really, really like this scheme.

It's good too see a Necron army that diverges from the regular grey-silver metal paintjob.
The bright orange weapons on the demo also look fantastic.

Great job.

Good Job on the lava mate, I think it pulls the whole model together nicely, and the freehand's looking good also, the only thing I would of done differently would be in regards to the cape, looks a tad dull compared to the rest of the model, but that just me. Great job overall keep it up.

Wow, loving the scheme very much!
I'm strongly considering Necrons as my next army, and I was thinking about a colour scheme I'd like.
The first idea I had was orange for the weapons etc instead of green.
I was also considering doing a turquoise/bone colour scheme, but wasn't sure if it'd go well with orange..

I must say though that your colour scheme is amazing, I really like it, and it's inspired me a lot..
I'd love to do something similar.. Still not sure yet, but regardless, I think yours are great! Looking forward to seeing more.

I see now the look with the glaze over the obsidian weapons. I think it was just hard to see with your lighting. I don't think it would be a problem in person, as walking around the board and moving models around would make the weapons glisten all the time. Looks good chief.

Awesome! I just joined today and have a very similar theme. I'm pretty new to the hobby and hope to perfect green stuff and basing like you have. Your painting is phenominal too! I will post a couple pics of mine. Its pretty crazy how similar they are.

Before today I had never seen yours but wish now I had used orange orbs. Those look awesome :-)

Can't wait to see more!

Oh, that is a cool base there! Makes me want to start making my own at some point.
Quick question: Is the paper on the staff done, or are you going to age it down some?

@dobbs - Because of the angle that you took that first photo it looks like it's a giant necron walking amongst some half finished warriors. It really made me doubletake.

Did up a C'Tan shard, haven't been doing too much Necron otherwise. I'm just finding the usual troop-painting-slog kind of uninspiring.

The base is from Hitech miniatures, IIRC, with heavy green stuff-ing to make all the cloth folds.

Also, sneak peek of what I've been working on (non-Necron-related).

Yeah, I really like how it looks like the Deciever is boiling up from a summoning circle.

I really like the base for the Deceiver. And his colors make it look as though he's been sculpted from stone (nice look), was that what you were looking for?
