Faith and Fire is the only WH40k novel I've read. I enjoyed it, though the end was annoying because... um, potential spoilers below.

Spoiler:
It was a little annoying when they started gratuitously killing off characters left and right for silly reasons, near the end.

Edited to add: The rest was good, though. ^_^

I dislike Marines, alot. Almost hate them, with this said, I did enjoy the Ultramarines novels. Well written, and unlike certain writers these marines have flaws. Which is essential for a good story.

I recommend Gaunts Ghosts, a series that dispeals the myth that the guard is full of dumb incompetent fools. And its great reading, since its humans fighting, not emotionless super soldiers.

The cain books are great as well. I really enjoy any books where the protagonists are humans. Marines bore me for the most part.

Proud to be Obliviously Blue since 2011!

Yeah, if only you could get a damn copy, chance would be a fine thing! Why do Black Library insist on releasing a small number of something when they KNOW that they could make some money by re-releasing it? The HH novellas are one example. It really fugs me off that I can't get any of them because BL, in their infinite wisdom decided to only release 4 copies. (Slightly off-topic however. My apologies)

"How many people here have telekenetic powers raise my hand" - The Emperor, The council of Nikae

"Never raise your hand to your children, it leaves your midsection unprotected" - The Emperor

"My father had a profound influence on me, he was a lunatic" - Kharn
