A rare unit that costs a buttload of pts means most players will likely only ever field 10 of 'em in any kind of typical game. So, to get a good profit on it, GW charges a silly high price. Same reason why all those other monsters and other huge kits cost a hienous amount, how many dragons/terrorghiests/thrones etc... are we ever really going to field at one time?!

Not really. There's plenty of other rares people will only buy one or two of that don't cost nearly as much.

The only reason they're priced that high is they were all metal cavalry, thus priced as individual characters. The reason they still cost so much is, well, GW didn't drop prices on anything with finecast (arguably, some got 'cheaper' by going into a multi-box for slightly less than the same amount individually), so they weren't about to drop the price of one unit, no matter how ludicrously priced.

Might very well also be that the Blood Knights never actually sold well, even in metal.

No worries.

You might find the thread useful too if you're looking for alternatives for anything else.

Let me know how the knights are when you get them as I've heard Gamezone figures can be a touch fiddly.

When I finally receive it I'll probably assemble and paint it, prop up a picture or two while I'm at it

Ive gone down the Chaos warrior knights for blood nights and the normal knights (bretonians) for black nights. I will be painting a set of those greenish for hex nights. I prefer the look of both of these. After all undead can be any race. i was tempted to use some undead orcs or boars at one time just to add some different to the look of the army...

Thissss this I need to do.
Often forget that undead can be any race and instead stick to the bones/zombies provided of the human undead, but that shouldn't count out others. Makes zombies potentially much more fun if I got per-say some funny goblins or orcs and stuff and just made big mismatched more comedic then anything else, units of zombies xD

I have heard of people using undead Ogres as filler for Zombies and Skeletons. 1 ogre = 4 zombies/skeletons
