While I agree their price doesn't really make sense they do have a few other things going on that mitigate the price difference... They have tail strike (S5); they have 4+ armor; swampstriders, ambushers, and cold blooded. While I realize it doesn't count for 40pts... it counts for something.

The other thing to keep in mind is these are preliminary rules and could end up changing before the books release.


The closest thing to a Fimir is a Kroxigor. It is 20 points over. This has an extra tail attack and a bound spell ability. I see the ability being the cost since it forces a re-roll of a successful charge. The banner that allows a unit to re-roll a failed charge is rather pricey. Could say 5 - 10 pts for the tail and rest in the bound spell.
