The only other ID death suggestion would be to make it a toughness check. Is it X2 T make a toughness check or die, deal with it kinda deal.
This is actually a pretty cool idea. And maybe for each point over the x2 threshold 1 is deducted from your die roll (eg, T4 hit by a Demolisher Cannon [S10] take a Toughness test at -2). It would also help out
MCs against Force Weapons, as most of them are T6 anyway, although it would also make Force Weapons pretty useless.
