It's a great idea, and I've seen it mentioned several time. However, there's a problem regarding the fact that it's a gun case carrying stuff.
I'm lucky in that I live in the US South where carrying around guns in public is allowed. Good luck getting that working in the Northeast US (liberals and cops would be all over you) or the UK (civilian firearms are outright illegal).

It's not as bad as you make it out to be. I've known many people who've carried those around, and they never had a simple problem.
Never heard of it being an issue from anyone online, either.

I've heard that, but never had problems myself. It would be a lot of fun to have a cop try to search one of my gun cases.

Took my Portable Warfare bag to Dakkacon this weekend via Fying. No issues fitting it under the seat on 4 different Delta planes, or going though security checkpoints

I THINK they are close.. I don't have a PW bag myself, but I looked into it 6 months ago and that was one of my questions then.

Yes
Both hold the standard 7.5"x13" trays that most companies use.

I was going to get Portable Warfare stuff until I realized I'd need 2 for each army at about 1500 points. Downsides to playing horde armies, I guess.

Simple answer yes.
Longer answer, both their Blu foam and sabol foam fits in the bag. Battlefoam Sabol sized foam fits better though.

I can also agree with this. Most players at out FLGS use them for Warmachine but are slowly phasing out for Battlefoam. I just stenciled a Cryx logo on the side of mine to distinguish it.
Also, they were originally made as R/C controller bags. At least thats what they are listed on Amazon as.

so the foam from another company fits PW bags better then PW foam?

Portable Warfare does not make BluFoam, he just has an arrangement with the company that makes it to sell it with the Sgt. Bags.
The PW APC box does not use Blufoam.

Slightly off topic, but this is the Mercedes Benz of figure cases. Worth checking out even if you don't intend to purchase a case any time in the near future.
