Question: Say you have a miniature that you started a long time ago, and never finished, but had put up pictures of it on Dakka, if you completed it for the competition, could it be entered?

Going straight by the rules, no. Your entry must not have been shown anywhere online.

Also having a partial paint job is getting a leg up on the competition.

The contest is a painting contest, not a conversion contest. I don't want anyone to feel prohibited from using something that somebody else may have converted for them, or something they bought already assembled. The answer is YES. You may use a model built by somebody else.

I didn't give a straight answer the first time because I wanted to think over both sides of the answer. In the end I think this is the best solution.

For this competition is there any restriction on the type of models we can use? IE: can we use conversions from Reaper, Armourcast, warhammer fantasy, custom green stuff models and all that jazz?

No restrictions. Mix and match, kit bash, whatever makes you happy.

Surely if it hasn't been painted prior to the start of the event would it not matter if the converting had already started? I just want to see where I stand in this.

I think I am going to jump into this, and I just came up with a really fun idea. My painting skills are not great and neither are my conversion skills, but this idea is just too fun not to try.

I love the idea and the concept of this contest, I so happen to have a interesting piece of terrian I would like to incorperate into this but it is already painted and not by me. Is it ok for me to pose my two duelists on this terrian, unpainted for WIP?

So, just to make sure I understand, I should not use pre-painted terrain in this contest even the figures posed on it are unpainted?
