Back on topic:
- no loincloth, unless you want a PG-13 version with strategically draped cloth covering her lady bits to stop small boys' brains exploding, in which case you might as well go for covered nipples too.
- hmm, without knowing anything bout your sculpting process, would it be practical to make a nude version and then make a 'clothed' version from that, and sell both?
- or the ultimate compromise: some sort of disturbing but non-vaginal shape in the crotch area, thus remaining 'decent' while still making small boys' brains explode as they imagine what exactly she has down there? Seriously, quite a few of Giger's creatures had disturbingly ambiguous crotches.
- getting away from crotches, i like the multiple eyes, but they need to be clustered closer to the 'normal' eyes.
- I agree with others that the design doesn't show much mechanical aspect, if you're going for biomechanical - which personally i think you should. Currently it's a great counts-as Slaanesh model,

Your artwork is stunning, really a great looking Slaaneshi-esque picture. But it does not look Giger to me. You put up 2 groups of pictures as inspiration for your work, and frankly IMO the 2 groups did not have a lot of cross over.

To me it looks like you are trying to blend arthropod + humanoid with a little Giger thrown in. Since your artwork is fanastic, we all like it.

That said, I would love to see what you could do for a Giger demon with no arthropod thrown in. Just Human + machine. Would love to see you complete your current idea and also put together a purer (word?) Giger homage demon.

I am a big Giger fan. If you made minis like this I would probably buy a couple armies worth. Half for nids and the other have for Chaos Daemons. Very nice start on the art. Do you have any examples of minis made before?

Here is a quick update.

- I tweaked the shape of the face a bit to more human-like proportions.
- I introduced color to help differentiate the soft and hard parts.
- I made a nose!
- I am doing some stuff with the hips to make them a little more giger-esque.

A lot of us are concerned that the piece is not Giger enough. That is a fair criticism. The piece is going in a more one-third demon, one third giger and one third arthropod direction. The Giger influence is helping round out the design, but the piece is primarily a demon with an arthropod type frame.

Having said that, a lot more of the biomechanical shapes and patterns will be put into the final sculpt.

Interesting - your 'x-ray' pics on the right show this would also be a great model _minus_ the Giant Boobies. And more androgynously disturbing too.

The new profile looks much better, but I'd love to get a larger image.

I really like how this is turning out. The one suggestion that comes to mind is to have the "hard" bits meld more fully with the "soft" bits. The effect now seems closer to demonic clothing than natural protuberances.

That is something that was mentioned earlier, so I will certainly take that into account. The hard bits end quite abruptly. Any number of "That's what she said"'s could fit in this thread.

I liked the noseless look, but I guess I'm outvoted on that front. I dunno. I'm willing to keep track to see the final product, but it seems less "Giger" and more "nekkid alien chick." I'm not saying you're doing bad work, it's just that I'm not seeing any of the mechanical aspects I'd hoped to. You say that the final model will have more of that though, so I'll trust in your artistic talents.
