This unit is backed up by a unit of wardancers, waywatchers and a Beastweaver, i have now won two games and narrowly lost 2 with this list and it is so much more fun than what I started out with.
people naysay Wood Elves all the time, I say to these people to try out the army themselves as although the learning curve is steep it is very much worthwhile, there are many different builds that wood elves can play and although they may still need tweaking to fit into 8th they are no where near as underpowered as people think.
I agree that
WE are not as underpowered as most people think, however that being said we are still hard pressed to win games due to either being affected by the new rules or hurt by our current rules. With that said however I am taking this as a learning experience as if I can do well with
WE in this current edition (have won more then lost) that when we get a new book I will be an even better player with them.
The Eternal Guard horde was fun to run (used to run x50 w/
FC, Razor banner with a
BSB noble and a Spellweaver in the unit) however I stopped taking it as I discovered treekin, and the fact that it became a target for almost everything on the board. After my fifth or so game of watching it blasted to pieces by my brothers mortars or magicked to death by dwellers below I decided that a more
MSU style approach to my army was needed, its still fun however and am still tempted to take a phalanx of these guys once in a while.

Cheers guys
Your welcome and let us know when you start putting together/playing with them, always glad to see another
WE player join the ranks, especially since there seems to be so few of us these days.
