You can make an educated guess at gender. Especially before childbirth the measurements are averages indicating trends, not hard and fast rules for genders. Besides, their robot forms are stylized.

Besides they are not human, so measurements are utterly irrelevant.

Kudos to riplikash for sparking my interest in the Newcrons.
I was mourning the mind-boggingly ancient and sinister star gods up until now, think I'll need to have a more thorough look at their codex. Someone already got me amused by describing them as "moustache-twirling villains", classy and haughty ; the discussion then moved toward the best way to convert top hats and monocles for 40k models.

If her body was inspired by the necrontyr legends it is safe to assume that they have a legend about a female god/necrontyr. Which they would only have if they had females of their species.

That said breasts are not part of the skeleton. lumps of meat no matter how attractive would look out of place. However you could probably get away with some female necron lord (there is nothing saying females could or could not become part of the ruling caste) who like a lot of other necrons longs for her old body.

I actually use High Queen Khalida as a proxy for a lord since I needed one after the codex came out. I am sure with some conversion work you could make her look the part. (replace her head and give her a necron staff for example)

This is exactly why i asked, i was contemplating using High Queen as well, but as a cryptek.

I can definitely see Necron Lords and Nobles appearing 'feminine'. They obviously have a sense of vanity and care about how they look. If femininity was an important part of a lord (ladies) identity I can definitely see them choosing to appear as such. Same with Crypteks.

I would have issues with 'female' rank and file though. They aren't male or female. Any parts of their personality not relevant to their duties is caste away, and gender definately falls into that category.

Well, why didn't you say so?
This is actually a cool idea, and ties in nicely with their theme of a sacrifice that's made in hatred, and later regretted when the cost of it has been revealed.
I'd say go for it, and post pics up so we can all see.

You could also have some fun tying that into her particular brand of insanity. Remember, EVERY necron lord is going insane. Usually this is somehow related to the final command the Silent King embedded in their subconscious, to restore the Necrons to their rightful place, and further twisted by his final thoughts at that time, as he considered how to put his people back in mortal bodies.

Even their most powerful, influential, and intelligent leader, Imotek the Stormlord is afflicted with it. 99% of the time he is cold and logical, but whenever he has an enemy leader at his mercy his emotionless, logical, calculating personality disappears as he is compelled to challenge his opponent to single combat, to prove his supremacy (e.g. restore the Necrons to their rightful place, in his mind, at the top). He always takes horrific damage, as he actually isn't a top tier fighter, but wins due to his constantly repairing body. Upon defeating them he can never slay his foe, no matter how unwise this is, always taking a trophy (usually a hand) and letting them go to learn and fight him another day. (again, subconciously attempting to restore the Necrons to their rightful place, feared and respected by their foes).

This theme has some fantastic potential in a 'female' Necron Lord. If femininity was an important part of who she was the command to "restore the Necrons to their rightful place" could warp in her head to restoring herself to be feminine or beautiful. Further, the sub compulsion of returning the Necrons to their mortal bodies could twist in her mind to mean restoring herself.

For extra creepy fun make her a 'face stealer', or even a flesh stealer. Then you could tie in some questions about the flayer virus. She doesn't have it, or doesn't seem to, but still has these odd compulsions that make other Necron Lords nervous.

As with most Necron Lords, the feminine identity doesn't have to be the core of her personality, but a side aspect, an occasional compulsion.

I think you could have a really compelling, creepy character concept if you explore the implications of the Necrons madness in this aspect.

I don't know, but I'd like some tits on wraiths, or maybe a lord. Maybe not rank and file guys though.

The wraiths are now just robot servitors created to maintain the necrons, not actual necrons themselves. It would be like putting breasts on a toaster. You could, but it would be wierd and make no sense.

I can't see boobwraiths being all that terrifying, somehow.

Those are really great concepts, riplikash. Thank you for sharing them. That's basically the direction I was going for. It seemed to me that with the recent codex update and Necrons exhibiting personalities now, I felt there would be some wiggle room here to work the character in. I had not seen any details anywhere as to the physiology of the Necrontyr, so i thought this would be as good of place as any too see if anyone had read something I had not.

I really like the idea of the face/flesh stealer, you mind if I run with that? Once it I have the model and background completed I will share it with everyone, if you don't mind.

@NL_Cirrus Thank you for agreeing.

There are no female Necrons, because all the females were made into Lolicrons. Wasn't that obvious?

Back in the old codex it was easy. With the old fluff maybe they had some sort of device on a tomb world, and maybe tombships, that cought their consciousness (what very little they had) when their bodies were destroyed, and put it into a newly-manufactured body. That way, even insta-death weapons couldn't "kill" them.

Basically the same as the Cylons in the new BSG.

I really don't see why this is needed. I also don't see how this can work without coming across as a typical feminist demand.

Don't get me wrong, seeing a female in power is all fine and everything. However, I don't like the idea of demanding it.
