I don't know when it ended for me. I do know that the Armageddon event battle reports were the height of my love for that magazine. So many beautiful models playing on a stunningly amazing table with unbelievable terrain all over the place. I still wish I could recreate that terrain.
That being said I would still like to find out where I could get a copy of those issues, I can't recall the number.

Ive got a seriously beaten up version of part 2 of those battles. I managed to save it from a dump hopper at our recycling centre! Its missing a few pages, but I have it, and I love it to pieces.

Many and varied forces in progress according to waxing & waning whims.

I may never finish an army in my life.

They also used to release new rules for Space Hulk almost monthly, so that any race could play.

Can't imagine them doing that now

Yeah but did you play it? I seemed waaaay complicated at the time even for a junior space cadet like me. I remember reading and re reading it over and over but never quite getting it in me head.

The images for it and gangs were allot more evokative that what necromunda turned out to be. I never could quite understand why the brat gangs didn't make it in to necromunda? The models were ace!

Not releasing new rules in a mag is understandable though since if you didn't get the mag you didnt have the rules, less of a problem now we have the Internet.

I havent bought WD for nearly 2 years now...purely because I can't find any decent bits in them apart from the new release info, and they've cut down stockists to GW's, hobby stores and Uni newsagents...even then the other hobby stores only get 2-3 copies :/

Oh yeah, we played it loads. I haven't played Inquisitor, but I imagine it plays a lot like that.

But random gangs, with random stats?

That was always hilarious, especially when I had to fight off 10+ gangers with my 4 Scavvies. Know what? They were the best games I ever had, no points, random gangs, and played in the right atmosphere. Really great game. Makes me want to explore Inquisitor

I've read through confrontation and inquisitor. Confrontation has muich more in common with Necromunda and Rogue Trader (The TTG, not the RPG) than it does with Inquisitor, which is essentially a RPG. YMMV, but one readthrough of Inquisitor cured me of any desire to play that game!

The good news is that you can judge for yourself since Inquisitor is still a free download from GW and there's a yahoo group dedicated to ye old necromunda that has the confrontation rules available for download.
