Great plog mate. What vmc reds are you using, out of interest? Great to see another non-standard gk blog, too.

For the BA I'm going with Flat red base and using 1:4 mix of Flat red and Light Orange, adding another 0:2 every highlight layer.

Hazzaa! finally an update, WOW I have been busy in so many different directions, infinity stuff all over the place WHFB all over the other places and then WH40K coming in from abroad!

Speaking of which, the update!

Pictures back from my GK commission for my first group of paladins, these are my lord choices personal guard (for which I'm using a counts as custom draigo) who will be on his way out for commission as soon as I have him sorted out and the others returned but for now a nice set of group pictures!

The back of the banner looks weird, so does the red on the apothecary. Good job on the swords though!

The banner or more so the back is stained, the apothecary is dirty as is the rest of them, very beaten and worn. When I say there the guard to my lord who isn't Draigo just uses his rules and custom model of him, I mean they have been his guard "since the beginning" and so they are all very rusted and worn down, stained and tarnished with eons of battle.

If I had gotten to greenstuffing the banner myself it would have been torn up and full of bullet holes, though my greenstuffing powers aren't that great so the stains are as good as it gets for that I think.

Also I went with the red for the apoth after seeing another GK's blog that used red instead of silver. I thought that it would be a nice thing to have the importence of the apoth standing out amidst the rest and again he is worn and tarnished so don't be looking for out of the box GK armour

And I think its awesome thats what matters :F

The rest of the army with the exception of my draigo counts as will be spiffingly new un-touched. Hence why they fly into battle in the other stormraven , these guys have fluff with my lord, everything else is to look nice and shiny overall

The darker shade overlapping is where I've tried to clean up an ink spill and some metalic damage but its not coming out how I liked so I've ordered another.

heres a tip that will save you money on ordering new parts!

Dettol. crazy i know, any old or messed up paint jobs need not be thrown and replaced as this stuff strips them down to bare grey plastic without losing any detail. i have done it several times after seeing it on youtube and it works a treat (have even stripped models that have had paint on them for over 10 years and multiple paint jobs, they came out the tub pretty much brand new apart from a little staining here and there)

I have done-sort of that before but I'm always really reluctent I don't know why its like a phobia, I did it on some imperial guardsmen and it worked perfectly like you say but I dunno, they smell kinda funny till you repaint them and the stains are deceiving as sometimes they look blocky as if its still paint when its not...

I'm actually in the process of stripping an infinity model like this but eh I've already gone and bought a replacement :x Idk It's something about stripping models and me that dont sit well xD I have an affliction to re-using painted models and its something I really need to get out of >.<

Love that apothecary. The paintjobs are generally most impressive, but the apothecary is pure win. Nice one.
