Small update:
Finished the last squad for my two 20 man blobs (sans commissars). Noted the improvements I've made to painting so far. Newer ones are much brighter and crisper.

And Also, to keep the V-scroll going, a Chimera that I finished a long time ago but never took photos of.

Great looking force there mate, love the scheme and some of the idea behind them, apart from the 40k billionaire play-boy bit...surely they'd spend a bit of their own cash getting some better weapons? Gold plated or not...

Can you give a tutorial on how you painted your vehicles. Specifically the main body color and weathering.

Great looking IG army.

I like that you had a visually distinct idea and carried it through to completion.

I would love to see how a Valk and Baneblade might look in these colors...

Awesome looking minis, just a thought though, aren't they going to pretty much blind themselves as well as anyone they're fighting against with all that gold if they fight during the day?

Does anyone have an idea as to what gold he used for his vehicles? I must try and replicate this on a different army

You need to put giant mufflers on all of the vehicles.

If these are what the infantry look like, I wonder what the capitol of their home planet looks like! Extraordinary paint jobs.

Amazing work! And I especially love the Kell and Straken model's you've made. If you dont mind my asking, what pieces did you use for them? I've been wanting to convert my own Straken and Kell (as I don't like the standard models) , but I havn't the slightest clue where to begin to make mine as amazing as yours.

Going to begin keeping track of my W/L/D record, just so i can track my progress as a general

Thanks for the replies guys,

@ZachFTWx:
I'm still figuring out how to paint vehicles well (that first leman russ is looking pretty rough, compared to the newest sentinel), but my process right now is:
1rime with tan colour spraypaint
2: Block in gold panels with Snakebite leather (GW metallics have crappy coverage and need a base on large areas)
3: Add a bit of weathering with a sponge (boltgun metal and browns. Do a bit of drybrushing with white.
3: Base colour Boltgun Metal, Dwarf Bronze, and Knarloc Green areas.
4: Wash with devlan mud.
5: Highlight with Burnished Gold, shining silver, and khaki
6: Wash back some areas (like rivets), and pick them out again with highlights.
And thats about it.

All the gold on the vehicles and infantry is dwarven bronze highlighted with burnished gold.

@Teufelhunde:
Straken is made from:
Body/legs: Cadian officer
Head: Hellhound commander
Arms: Chaos marine powerfist. The shotgun is a scout shotty and grenade launcher
Backpack: Chaos marine pack with the vents removed. Vents on top are from an IG mortar bipod. Back plate is from a sentinel.

Kell is a standard IG officer mostly, but his sword arm is converted from the ML arm, and the cyborg powersword. The banner is from fantasy chaos warriors.

And a smal update, here's the pair of Hydras I'm working on.
