Been playtesting a few games, and while some stuff sounds fun on text, it doesn't play as well. But it's an easy fix to get the best of both worlds. Some of the unit and main rules have been worked around making a brand new system.

Depending how much time I have, I might get the 4th draft done before 6th, as some of the playtesting major changes has greatly helped. Though I'm having a big problem with the Hybrix, and while I don't want to drop it... I'm not sure how to work around it either.

If you would like to help with the Fluff, you're free to submit on here. I'm not a writer, so I can only give a vague description on how everything works.

Ahh... a good attention seeking bump.

Just to let know I've started working on the 6th edition "4th draft" which is going to have huge changes, and almost a new read, and hopefully you could check it out (though it mostly be presented the same codex-wise)

I've had my first game of 6th and hopefully more to come soon, so I can correctly update this codex to fit more to the changes, rather than a gakky FAQ, I've got some great additions to the units which work wonders compared to 5th.

There will still be no fluff this draft, though I can start somewhere with the rulebook's context, and hopefully extend towards lexicanum. I'm sorry for any unit/wargear information left out, but you just have to fill it in for now till I can correct this, I'm a rules guy first.

I have a vague idea where to take Habal, so some features are just temporary, including the new Alliances chart which Habal have something other races do not.

It might be uploaded this week, so stay tuned.

Ok 6th edition Codex Habel is here, 4th draft.
This draft is heavily worked upon and while previous drafts have involved correcting minor things, this one has some very big changes on units. In a way it's two drafts, 6th edition changes and what I planned to update beforehand.

I would appreciate people giving this codex a second chance with this draft, as I've spent a long time trying to put everything into place. If you still feel the same way I won't hold it against you. Again I love to hear any comments or playtesting with this. Lord of the Rings Goblins make good proxies for Prancers/Maimers with similar weapons (Hawood, Halspear, Hawood Barrier / Close Combat Weapon etc)

There might some things in the codex I overlooked, either a balancing problem or loophole. Good thing it's a draft, eh? (phew)

After studying for weeks of the 40k fluff, I might be ready to make The Habal complete with their backstory and unit explanations.

Would anyone be interested if this project was continued (with updated rules)
