Indeed, the first thing my tight uncle said after my mother snuffed it was "We can sue the NHS" to which my Dad replied "What's the point, she's fething dead regardless you parasite"

In her case, she found a tumour early, and then got a mastectomy (lopped a tit off), after which the doctor told her "no need for after treatment we got it nice and early" so she left it, but they didn't get all of the cells/tumour out and 2 years later she was riddled with it and kicked the bucket. It was a cast iron case apparently, but as always, that's not how my family rolls. We look after our own gak instead of crying about it to the overlords in government. My Dad felt strongly about it because he felt that if you take money from the NHS your basically just fething someone else. Rightly or wrongly, If everyone else had that attitude we wouldn't have a nation that seems to WANT there to be complications with NHS treatment so they can get the money. Or a few million brainwashed labour voters that are utterly addicted to wellfare and will never ever work.

And neither will their 8 kids.

I like to think that maybe if the NHS wasn't getting malleted by "no win no fee" parasites or busy paying for chavs to get their tits done or immigrants to get sex changes they might actually perform better.

However you slice it, the NHS DOES need fething looking at, because its haemorrhaging money.

But you cant say that because its politics, if you say "The NHS needs some reform" then the Daily Mirror writes "MUGGER DAVE CRUSHES NHS BETWEEN IRON BOOT" and then ignorant feth heads parrot it to everyone.

The NHS isn't getting privatised.

Kilkrazy wrote:Lib-Dem seem to have pissed off a lot of their natural supporters by being too conservative once they got into coalition government.

To be honest they lost a huge chunk of their support when they took a great big dump from a huge height over students - the great majority of which are traditionally lib dem. Not to mention folding completely on all their election pledges bar the one that no one other than the lib dem politicians actually cared about (prop rep voting)

I seriously doubt they will ever smell power again.

I see a return to extremist voting of a couple of elections ago as people switch off from the main parties. hell, even if the tories (because let's face it, the libb dems may as well not exist) had saved the uk with their financial etc policies, their quite frankly insane healthcare, taxing and security proposals have completely put me off from voting from them.

I suppose like many people I am cast adrift when it comes to deciding where to vote. Do I protest and vote for one of the extreme parties? Do I vote independent (could be good locally but does not really do much nationally) or do I vote for one of the small national parties like the greens, ukip etc - again, not likely to do much on the national level.

I want a single strong party to take control, not a bunch of squabbling children with far too much power and too little brains, scrouples, resolve and principles fighting to a standstill. But then do I really want a party of such people (because let's face it there are a lot of people in politics you would not trust to watch over your stuff) pulling in the same direction?

From what I gather, the current government are still trying to handle the horrendous mess that Labour left behind. The only problem is the larger part of the coalition (Tories) are being held back by the smaller part (Lib Dems) because the smaller part are very picky, open-ended and generally confused about anything they do.

Backtracking though, we could be in a far worse state. We could have a Labour/ Lib Dem government and I for one would abandon country should that happen. Having that gormless moron Ed Miliband team up with Butler would be a catastrophic pairing.

They do come out with some screamers though. Take the whole child benefit thing. If one of the parents earns more than £50k they lose benefit, however if both are on £45k each they don't lose it. Simplest thing would been once this was pointed out was to say, "oops, see what you mean, we'll get that amended", but no they don't say anything. Pretty certain that they've not even sorted this yet.

As to the fuel balls up, that was an obvious political move. It was a classic piece and both parties are guilty of doing this.

The really annoying thing is that there is no need for the parties to be so far apart. We all want the same thing, to have a job, pay a fair tax, see our kids educated properly, have our health looked after and protect our island nation. It's about time they all started putting down the facts in B&W instead of saying what they think will get them more votes.

Live your life that the fear of death can never enter your heart. Trouble no one about his religion. Respect others in their views and demand that they respect yours. Love your life, perfect your life. Beautify all things in your life. Seek to make your life long and of service to your people. When your time comes to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song, and die like a hero going home.

This.

I have no confiedence in the man as any kind of leader, can't imagine him being in charge at all. Tbh, he gives me the same sort of feeling as Kinnock used to, just without the awesome accent.

It could be worse. I might be living in an independant Scotland with our Glorius Leader, Alex "I speak with the voice of everyone in Scotland" Salmond in charge.

I wouldn't trust Ed Miliband to run a bath! Every time I see him on TV, I'm looking for the strings.

@Albatross. You and I have had disagreement in the past over politics, but to be honest, I don't know why we bother wasting our time. The leaders of all parties went to the same schools, same universities, and used the same connections to climb the greasy pole. They were parachuted into safe seats, and probably haven't done a day's work in their lives. They stand for nothing, they represent nothing except their own careers.
The old ideological divisions are dead. I mean, really, is Cameron a tory? Or Miliband a socialist? Nay nay and thrice nay!!
The end result is 4 of the worst political leaders in modern times: David Cameron, Gordon Brown, Nick 'turncoat' Clegg and Ed Miliband. What a shower!!

I completely and utterly disagree. All healthcare providers the world over make mistakes, it is simply inevitable in a field as highly complex as medicine.

Healthcare kills thousands of people every year, the NHS is no exception yet it provides a truly world class service.

I've had very close up experiences with the fully private and insurance driven healthcare here in the US with my mother in law's terminal cancer last year and in the UK, with the UK NHS with my gran's blood pressure and heart attack issues and with my mother's Multiple Sclerosis.

It has left me with absolutely no doubts where I'd rather be ill. The NHS is an amazing thing, despite repeated attacks by governments of both sides, it's still caring for the population of the country.

Socialised healthcare, enjoyed by every 1st world nation on earth except the United States, is a blessing and every bloody one of you reading this in the UK should thank your lucky stars for it and fight for it to be properly funded and protected with every ounce of your political veto and voice.

If enough Scots wake up to that the SNP might lose their referendum. A lot of Scots are saying, 'Independence would be nice, but it would be a disaster under Salmond'. If he won Scots would never be rid of him and he will feth Scotland as badly as Gordon Brown fethed the whole UK.
