Any army with a reliable long-range gun, such as a Predator or Rifle Dreads will make your army disappear very quickly.

If you regularly play on a board with a few wooded hills, you can use a kroot-star. They aren't slowed by the woods, so they can infiltrate real close (hopefully out of sight at 12"), if you have 1st turn then you can hopefully limit his shooting at the kroot who are swarming towards him, and then on your turn 2 CHYARRRRGEEE!!!

Don't know how effective, but maximum number of kroot+shaper+max hounds+max krootox has got to be able to lay down some hurt...

I wish I had time for all the game systems I own, let alone want to own...

i would use something big and enticing and move it into a 'killbox' bate the enemy in works great with combat heavy armies and let loose with firewasrriors and xv8's with plasma rifles and missile pods take lots of marker lights and a fiew broadsides... now i havent played for a while so i may be wrong but if the rule still sticks for falling back past an enemy unit and getting minced close the killbox with a squad of pathfinders, i havent been to specific as this tactic works with a number of units and indeed armies but i have not played in a fair while and i'm using standard battle tactics on a board game but it used to work fine with me. there are no sneaky tactics just good ones and a good commander will use the correct plan of battle in the correct situation. be fluid and have faith in your army!
