you sir, are awesome.
THAT is what both the Dreadknight, and the GK Contemptor should look like.
you win on all fronts good sir.
now, do I have your permission to copy this idea? you've REALLY inspired me to make my own variant like this.

Love it lots.
Re producing this as a commercial conversion kit, unfortunately you'd have to exclude the GK insignia, and arguably the "helmet" needs to look a bit less like a normal GK helmet, but neither would be difficult to do.

Very impressive. I think what is fundamentally right about this is that I look at this and go, "Yes. I can see that that is a Dreadknight" in a way tha tI can't with some conversions; yours looks convincingly like a giant oversized GK of Dread. Really matchless work sir.

heavybolter wrote: I think I struck a nerve with this conversion. Now I'm really tempted to buy another one (this one was a gift) and mock up a full kit.I'd guess i would have to change it some to avoid any GW legal heat right? Finished painting the sword and the heraldry shields but they still need an icon. I have the witchhunter decal sheet thinking i might use the skull from there or maybe freehand a sword or two. Other than that just have to finish the base. I think the sword turned out good and i touched up the armor with chainmail, it felt like it was too much on the blue side as far as tint. Also finished the guns but I forgot to paint the spare hand! Doooh! I dont know about you guys but does anyone else think the Thunderhammer that came with this kit just looks wrong and kind of dinky compared to the sword?
This dreadknight is truly awesome! I am drooling
I would say that you should consider making a production of the extra parts that you have modelled yourself. Forget about the complete kit, just the extra parts together with a pdf og blog-post with a detailed guide how to make the conversion.
People can buy the Dreadknight them selfes.
Those kind of upgrade kits for existing models are known from other model hobbies, for instance the hobby of model trains, where smaller manufactors make upgrade kits for people who insist to upgrade their models from the big manufatures to look more true to the real life prototype.
Why would it not work hear to make the existing model look way more cool? People would still need to buy the GW Dreadknight
That way I do not see you can end up in any disputes regarding rights and so on.

Thanks for all the positive support! I'm glad everyone enjoys the end result.
Exactly what I was thinking. I wouldn't think of involving the original model in a custom kit, more like putting the add on parts together in the vein of resin garage kits.
