Make DKoK, SL, or Mordian (all in one codex even) before you do Catachans.
Catachans have funny rules but I hate those models.

The problem is, you have to start selling seven times as many Guardsmen, lol.
Marines get more codex books because they sell more models. To a certain extent, the symptom definitely feeds the disease, but ultimately, if other factions sold significantly more models, you'd see more attention. Personally, I'd love to see a ton more Imperial Guard armies than Space Marine ones, but the pricing prevents that. In a strictly economical sense, playing as Space Marines makes the most sense for new players. If GW adjusted pricing to make other armies more affordable, I'm sure the numbers would balance a bit more, but ultimately the Space Marines have always been the stars of the show.

There needs to be an Imperial Fist, Crimson Fist, and Sons of Dorn codex, though. I just made up Sons of Dorn as a Chapter. As chapters spawned from Dorn's Geneseed, they each need their own codex. At least 200 pages. Single spaced.
We don't even have all the Ultramarine successor codexes! More smurfs! More!!!!

What's missing from Catachans now that you can't simulate with the new IG codex is WS4 and Armor Save 6+. All it would take is the one paragraph in the old Catachan codex where you could upgrade any unit to Deathworld Veterans.

Don't tell people how to do things, tell them what to do and let them surprise you with their results.

If an ultramarines successor deviated from the codex, Calgar would hunt them down and slap them silly with the backhand of his power fist.

How about we update the Sisters and templars first, before bringing in more UM successor codices and catachan dexes?

Where the SC don't mix well with their retinue, has 1/4 the options and units of the Tau Empire codex, Same point costs, and all the fluff is nothing but open ended mystery upon open ended speculation/rumor.
I'd love to see options for a Farsight enclave, but it wouldn't differ from the Tau Empire enough to warrant it.

I'm expecting an Imperial Knights supplement dedicated to GW's loyalist apologetics. Codex: White Knights "In the grim dark future, everything is fine."
"The argument is that we have to do this or we will, bit by bit,
lose everything that we hold dear, everything that keeps the business going. Our crops will wither, our children will die piteous
deaths and the sun will be swept from the sky."

We need codexes of new unique alien races, hopefully at some point all the redundant marine books are merged into one bigger book with a section with special rules and the like to make them unique.
This will free Games workshop to make some more races. Thus I would say Catachans can be represented all ready just fine with an army of vets.
