Razors are also good for a ride for a 5-man squad and your HQ.
For example, in my future vanilla marine army, I run a single razor with two rhinos, giving me 25 scoring bodies. The Razor gets to sit back on an objective and shoot its lascannon with the preds and typhoon.
HQ
Librarian - Null Zone, The Avenger/100pts
Troops
Tactical Squad (10) - Combi-flamer, Flamer, Missile Launcher, Rhino/215pts
Tactical Squad (10) - Combi-flamer, Flamer, Missile Launcher, Rhino/215pts
Tactical Squad (5) - Razorback, Las-Plas/165pts
Elites
Dreadnought - Twin-linked Autocannon, Twin-linked Autocannon/125pts
Dreadnought - Twin-linked Autocannon, Twin-linked Autocannon/125pts
Fast Attack
Land Speeder - Multi-melta, Heavy Flamer/70pts
Land Speeder - Multi-melta, Heavy Flamer/70pts
Land Speeder - Typhoon Missile Launcher/90pts
Heavy Support
Predator - Lascannon sponsons/120pts
Predator - Lascannon sponsons/120pts
Predator - Heavy Bolter sponsons/85pts
Vanilla marines work well with 10-man squads in rhinos, but cheap 5-man squads in plazorbacks compliment them nicely and give your cheap scoring bodies in a solid shooting platform.

I'll be honest here.
If you aren't combat squading to spam vanilla marine las-plas backs, I'd probably rather just run my guys as counts at Black templar and take the rhino and the plasma gun and lascannon you get in the squad.
165 point scoring razorbacks with a payload of ill equipped marines doesn't feel like something you should be the back bone of your list. You could use a few for objective snatching and camping, but you'd probably be happier with a payload worth delivering or something cheaper.
Now if we are talking BA or SW that is a different story.

Because it's a list that's been tailored to fight... well... this list.
What? I just whipped that up off the top of my head, not tailored to fight anything in particular. What list do you think its tailored against?
Hah, well, it was accidentally so, then.
I think this might be a freudian moment. Play against MSU mech spam much?
Not like that, not very often The fellas who do that have moved on to 'crons. I'm more the local MSU mech spammer...well was. Gets boring, real quick =/ I'd rather play my semi-scrub friend with a semi-competitive list than play my competitive friends with a competitive list. The former is more fun than the latter

If you like 5 man squads then why not eh? Combat squad a 10 man, with the sarge and the special in the 'back and the heavy in cover. You could end up with quite a few scoring units.

I thought of that, but, like I mentioned in my thread about standard Land Raiders, my playing style, and my Crimson Fists' fluff, for that matter, revolve around expensive elite units. I see a lot of guys to the whole MSU thing, but when stuff starts to get stretched thin, they only end up with one or two objectives anyways. I'd rather have the smaller, tougher units for the higher point costs.
