I dunno read a thread or two about the Tau, and they'll be filled with people who either love, or hate, the Tau because they think they are "the good guys". I don't think it's arrogant to say that most players don't seem to understand the Tau very well. It's just the truth.
Personally, I like the Tau, as a concept. Not a huge fan of the anime mecha look to the battle suits, but no real problem with the rest of the race/army as a whole. And I'm an old school guy with plenty of "good reason" to hate the later additions to 40K like the Tau and Dark Eldar, lol. The Ethereals being these sorts of sinister, behind the scenes puppet masters seems right in line with 40K. But, like I said, the fluff is too subtle. All the tell-tale signs are there, but 40K fans are too literal. Look at all the outrage over the 5th Ed Space Marines Codex. People can't figure out the context in that book either, and rant and rave about how much they hate Mat Ward and the Ultramarines. The Tau are the same way. People take stuff at face value, and ignore the context, and don't read between the lines or understand the inferences.
