So, I would have to say some of his... obviously they are almost all good. But If I had to pick three I would say Police Story, The Armour of God and Project A.
Brotherhood of the Wolf, Dog Soldiers, Yojimbo, Seven Samurai, Hidden Fortress, Akira, Ghost in the Shell, Ip Man, and Ip Man 2 were all at a minimum decent films to watch are there any more excellent action/drama/thriller/science fiction films out there?
The bolded films are win.

Because I liked how it looked, and I liked the actors. And I liked because Mads Mikkelsen is a good actor. And next time try to ask more polite, people migth be inclided to respond in a similar manner.

You must be new here I'll give you Mikkelsen. he has an intriguing pattern of acting. The rest was a little slow and confusing...

I both like this film, and don't like it. It is one of my most favorite pieces of literature, mostly because it is glorifying, and has a lot of action. The reason I don't like it is sort of hard to understand. I love my certain other, and the thought of someone I know betraying me, and taking her reluctantly away from me both horrifies and disgusts me.

I will forever remain humble because I know I could have less.
I will always be grateful because I remember I've had less.

Surreal City of Lost Children (French film)

Comedy (Stephen Chow is a fething comedic genius) Kung Fu Hustle
Shaolin Soccer
Action Leon: The Professional
La Femme Nikita
Time and Tide (pretty much anything by Hark Tsui)
Sukiyaki Western Django (Samurai Cowboys! Also, the decision to have the actors speak in pretty atrocious engrish was brilliant)

Drama Untold Scandal (a korean re-telling of Dangerous Liasons)
I'm assuming you've seen some of the more mainstream wire-fu movies like Crouching Tiger/Hidden Dragon, Hero, House of Flying Daggers, etc? If not, these are worth a watch as well.

Yep, it pulls from a number of sources.
Let's see, I've heard that Bunraku and Warrior's Way are decent, but haven't seen either of them.
Is there a particular style you would prefer, or are you up for pretty much anything?
My wife and I caught Angel-A, which was a terrific Luc Besson film.

Have you seen Hero?
I don't care fore wire-fu much either, but Hero is something you can appreciate far beyond the martial arts.

Legionnaire is the only movie with Jean-Claude Van Damme that I actually like.
The Wind that Shakes the Barley
The Mission (possibly Jeremy Irons finest moment)

La Femme Nikita's a classic.
The Vanishing is as well.
Tell No One is a more recent great French one.
Renegade was a neat French surprise. Based on Jean Giraud (Mobius)'s classic Blueberry series of Western comics.
Anything Kurosawa, of course. His version of King Lear (Ran) is awesome. I recommend watching it on a big screen especially because of the battle scenes. One review of it noted that apparently Kurosawa could control the weather.
Hard Boiled is "the gun movie". You remember when heroes in action movies started shooting with two pistols at once? This movie basically made that popular.
Old Boy.

I have to say, the hallway fight scene in Oldboy is one of my favourite scenes, just because of the way it's shot.
Park Chan Wook does a fantastic job of putting together a shot.

If you like war movies, the German films Das Boot and Stalingrad are both very, very good. Someone also mentioned Downfall, and I would also recommend checking it out if you like WWII movies.
Joyeux Noël is a very interesting movie about the Christmas truce in WWI.
Paris, Texas is also a great movie. I think the best way to describe it is very melancholy. Definitely not an exciting film, but very well done.
Im Juli is quite good.
I haven't seen the whole thing, but what I have seen of Good Bye Lenin! was pretty funny.
I haven't seen The Lives of Others but it's been recommended to me. It's about the Stasi spying on people in East Germany.
Léon is worth watching.
As far as older stuff goes, The Third Man is good, and still quite entertaining.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Oh, I forgot to mention Nowhere in Africa. It won an Oscar for best foreign language film.
