She attended both the DNC and RNC in 2008, but looking at what Wikipedia has to say regarding the charities she contributes to I would guess she's left of center.

The president, when announcing a socio political platform is playing politics!

Gasp!

I'm pretty sure she doesn't push a party; she just wants Latinos to get out and vote.

That is what I know her for. I wouldn't care if she were a Republican, it just isn't something I have heard/read about her before, and didn't find anything that backed up the allegation. Just in case I will continue to watch her closely. Very closely.

Not suprised. He's just vote buying. It will piss off a lot of Southerners though. Still a better choice than Romney.

Why are people so dumb?

Does any politician do otherwise?

No one has denied that he is a registered member of the Republican Party. The Republican Party isn't so homogenous as to not allow for different types of members, and clarifying the type of member is not the same as denying that person membership. Recognizing that Clint Eastwood does not always support Republican candidates, or tow the party line at all times, does not make him not a Republican. He is registered Republican, but he has donated to Democrat, Republican, and Libertarian candidates and issues.

And in all fairness, the Republican Party of 1952 is a very different party then the Republican party of 2012. Eastwood, like Dick Lugar, are throwbacks to the older form of Republican politics

Matty said he couldn't think of a Republican actor, Clint Eastwood has identified himself as a Republican since 1951. Who he supports is really ancillary, that just means that instead of voting the party line he uses his brain. You know like we all should.

But most don't.

I get accused of being a "backwards republican redneck hick" because I support second amendment rights, then get accused of being a "democrat liberal socialist scum" because I support gay marriage. But what if I supported second amendment rights... but only for gay people?

I have to try this out and see what the reaction is sometime.

You: He's a Republican.
Me: Indeed, he is an old school Republican
You: He has been a Republican since 1952!
Me: Again, yes.
You: WHY WOULD YOU POINT OUT WHAT TYPE OF REPUBLICAN?! HE IS A REPUBLICAN!
Me: I'm sorry, I don't understand your problem.

It may be ancillary, but it is still true, and it is infact a laudable trait. I think it is worth pointing out that he shows traits worthy of emulation, and I am not sure how doing so is being taken as denying his membership to the Republican Party.

Eastwood is pretty clear on his Republicanism. From another thread:

"I was an Eisenhower Republican when I started out at 21, because he promised to get us out of the Korean War, and over the years, I realized there was a Republican philosophy that I liked. And then they lost it. And libertarians had more of it. Because what I really believe is, let's spend a little more time leaving everybody alone."

I get where you got the impression; she showed up at the RNC in 2008...she also showed up at the DNC the same year. If you google her name and a party it will come up.

Ah, going down the low moral road I see. I honestly don't know what your issue is. You seem hell bent on being a jerk and no reasonable person is going to stop you. For some reason you have decided, come Hell or high water, that somehow I have denied that Clint Eastwood being a Republican, when I've consistently stated he is a Republican. Even your little 'fixed' post contains nothing that denies that he is a Republican nor does it contain any other information that is not true about the man. He is both a Republican and all over the map politically. And yet, here you are, still being a colossal douche over some imaginary slight. Congratulations?
