Possessed Khorne Marine Covered in Spikes

Just bought the Chaos Daemons boxset. It's quite a high model count (45). Good as an army expansion, but wouldn't call it even close to a 'good to go' force by any means.

Cerebrium wrote:Imperial Guard one is good too. It's a basic platoon plus a sentinel straight out the box. Or if you make the regular guardsmen into veterans, it's a potential 500 point army in a box.

It works out as basically getting a free Sentinal. Woopdie doo.
It used to have a Russ instead...

I would buy it if it had a Demolisher, or maybe a regular Russ kit instead of a sentinel.

But that would put the price up!!

Imperial guard: Because quantity has a quality of it's own.

Sisters of Battle can be used in any game, with the exception of chess, Monopoly and of course, Warhammer 40,000.

After 8 editions, you might have thought that GW could get fantasy right.

I really love the Sisters of Battle Battleforce.

2 squads of 10 sisters, A Cannoness, an Immolator and 5 Seraphim all for $100!

I just wish it wasn't all in my head...

Space Wolves is decent. 20 Blood Claws/Grey Hunters/Wolf Guard, heck with the bits and some creativity you could even kitbash and make a Rune Priest. I love the Wolf Scouts because they can come in on any board edge, but the Drop Pod is a waste IMO. I purchased my Battleforce almost a year ago and the drop pod is still in the box on the sprue.

Bounding Assault Marine

I am going to say SM battleforce as another good deal.
Price wise its absolutlely great. Here in my store 1 assault squad box is Php1500,Scouts are 1300,rhino is 1500, Tac squad 1700, combat squad 1300. But the battle force is Php 4500 (around $100, cheaper in my country). Heck you can make a captain with the contents of the box.
Tactically, scouts suck (these variants),Assault squad is the same thing, Combat squad is nearly useless but I did make mine sternguard. Rhino is good but more would rather have a Razorback.

Just my 2 cents

I am in process of buying 3 sets of the AoBR orks from a friend for $60...can't beat that for 60 boys, 15 nobz, 9 deff coptas and 3 warboss figs.

I would have bought a couple of the battleforces, but I like the idea of having a couple mad hordes of screaming copters instead of mad hordes of screamer bikers...

Until I got my 3rd Eldar battleforce, whenever I wanted a Wave Serpent or War Walker, I would consider getting another box. The Guardians will get turned into Storm Guardians eventually, but I use a lot of Dire Avengers.
So, for me, the Eldar BF is great, but 3 is the most I'll buy.

I second the post on the crappy-ness of the ork battleforce, which is really a shame considering the rest of the model line is fantastic (Warbuggies? What? Never heard of them, sorry). You get 3 bikers, a trukk and 20 boyz. What do they expect you to do with the 20 boyz and the trukk? Any ork worth his teef fills trukks to the brim, but that's just 8 boyz left over. But who wants to slog ten boyz? Also, most trukk lists don't have enough time for bikers, but whatever. Probably we will get a nice one after black reach goes oop.

Sinewy Scourge

In 3-4e the Necron box was the best buy there was. 20 warriors, 5 scarabs (more if you spread out the scarabs and got a few round bases) and 3 Destroyers. Two of those and you have a very solid Phalanx and 6 destroyers (who were just punishing in terms of volume of fire) Add in a Monolith and a Necron Lord or two and you're in business. Add in Immortals to round out the list to 1850. Very, very cheap.

The new one also appears quite solid. It gives you a choice on which vehicle you build out of the box rather than shoehorning you into a transport only, and many lists relying on redundancy to keep their arks alive.

Good news. This is the best time in the hobby. Full of promise. GW lets us down each time and we know it but secretly we're hoping that this is the edition that GW gives us a balanced game that can also be played competitively at tournaments. I'm loving it.
