Didn't even know White Scars were anit-dreadnaught.
Maybe it's like how Space Wolves are anti-psyker but still have super-psyker-space marines?

Its the usual 40k thing - the exception that proves the rule
Doesn't make sense. Dreads don't hunt down people, they're too valuable to use like that. They're kind of hard to sneak up on people with too and who's going to maintain his systems while he's "hunting"? He'd need special transport, a techpriest at least and other support people. All these people and resources so that one cowardly person can be tracked down and killed?
This is so insanely stupid you just know the writer gave zero thought to this.
Wow. "Insanely stupid" seems a bit hyperbolic.
I don't think 'hunt down' here means 'sneak up on and shoot'. I think the Dreadnought is probably part of a battle force which is pursuing an enemy force which contains the coward who shot him. I don't see any evidence that Temajin tromps off alone into the woods to do it, either. I don't think he's wearing a hunting cap and creeping around like Elmer Fudd.
I also don't see where you get that because Temajin has vowed to hunt down this coward, that's ALL he and his support staff (and presumably, brother marines) are doing. If someone vows to hunt down Ghazgkhul, he's probably not going off on his own with a medic and a driver, and ignoring all the other orks he meets. He's probably prosecuting some sort of a crusade with an end goal of killing Ghazghkul, but a crusade that would also result in a lot of ork deaths. A crusade that other allies could support, even if they, personally, didn't have a vendetta against one particular enemy in that opposition. Temajin may hate the coward who laid him low, but I don't see any evidence that the dreadnought won't fight anyone else but that guy.
Assuming that the dreadnought isn't 'hunting wabbits', but actually waging an effective campaign against this enemy's forces, how is this a waste? I mean, theoretically, every Dreadnought should just be training other space marines until they've learned all his tricks and tactics, rather than loafing around in suspended animation between battles, but still.
You can accept that they entomb grievously wounded heroes and revive them in times of need against the foe, but they would never do this to some wounded hero who WANTED to survive and face off against a particular enemy?
An Elmer Fudd Dreadnought
Ha. I am so going to make a Motivational picture with that.

What he said! Space Wolves have the bestest psykers even though they hate em. (Well, excluding GK's I suppose)
So in the next SM codex White Scars should have the best dreadnoughts. It's only fair.

If your eyes are bleeding after reading this white dwarf, it may have come into contact with Chaos taint. Please incinerate it and report to your local commissar or inquisitor for BLAMming.
I like the idea of a guy wanting to hunt down someone that killed in a dishonorable way, even if his chapter is anti dreadnought. As to the issue of transport, since he is a white scar, I assume he ha a dreadnought sized bike. For dealing with the inability to sneak, he should consult a Raven Guard dreadnought

I dont think its THAT bad.. surely some of the fethers in the Scars must fancy cracking on in a Dred?
Id rather do that and keep on busting skulls if I was mad into my bikes, than just you know.. die.
And the bit of fluff they added did say that the bloke REALLY wanted to keep on killin!
I think your making a mountain out of a molehill. Sure they like fast gak, but they are still a codex chapter, they still use devestators and they hardly move! And they have a thousand brothers, surely a few of them would fancy being stuck in a Drednaught?

A chapter which apparently doesn't believe in dreads is suddenly going to go against this belief so that a marine can get vengeance on someone who isn't strong enough to defeat astartes in battle. That sounds too petty for marines to bother with.

Meh, I have no problem with White Scar Dreadnoughts. They explained it well.
My problem is using the AOBR Dreadnought, as it is an incredibly lazy model skimping on detail for the sake of being snap fit.

Perhaps they could make an extra big bike for the dread to ride on.

Itd have to be a pretty big bike, I mean, not even terminators can ride them, and a terminator is tiny compared to a Dread Talk to an Ork Mek, he'll hook you guys up

What's the exact fluff on this?
It seems kinda silly to take such violent exception to... an exception. And Marines have been known to be kinda petty. Look at Lorgar and the Word Bearers and how much they hated the Ultramarines. Or Leman Russ and the Space Wolves... period, heh.

Since we all know White Scars hate the idea of being entombed in a dreadnought, yet they have them anyway and presumably sometimes need to deploy them, I think the most logical conclusion is that it's a voluntary process. Maybe it's like being an organ donor in the US - on the back of their power armor license is a little marking that lets the apothecaries know they volunteer for dread duty, while other marines might have a DNR (do not resuscitate) marking instead.

You do seem awfully upset over this. The white Scars must have dreadnaughts, and perhaps they just do not bring them to war but some are revered captains who still honor there chapter. Or some such thing.
