Did any secret service agents dive on the broccoli to protect him?

Does he still have a detail? I thought that protection expired after 10-20 years.

In his defense, he's the ex head of the CIA. Where do you think they got the idea for Operation Treadstone. He has a very particular set of skills...

What nonsense are you talking about? When?

When what?

Wow you can't figure you own post from a few minutes ago? I'll refresh your recollection. You typed:

I implied several things in that post frazzled. Pick one, don't just throw out incomplete sentences and act indignant. You're a grown up, use big boy words. Do better.

Dude its your own quote you can't figure out. Don't blame me for you having a "Reverend Jim" Ignatowski moment.
Now answer the charge puff daddy. How is Bush Sr. - as you claimed - over the place, such that you can't turn over a rock without finding him there? We wait with baited breath.

What? I said that he was all over the place. The dudes in the public eye a lot, often times with bill Clinton himself. He does foreign visits, has a very visible set of charities he operates within, he makes stump speeches occasionally, and he endorses candidates. He's not a quiet public figure by any stretch. I'm not going to drum up a ton of hotlinks for you since the last poster that did that was just ignored and because I don't feel like spending that kind of time.

So in other words YOU WERE WRONG AGAIN. We've already said talking about charities and endorsing their own party candidates is ok. If you're going to post and belittle other posters at least have the decency to keep up with the conversation.

That act was not retroactive. The first president to have a shelf life on Secret Service protection is W, who has it for 10 years. Although this is a little OT now I thought that was kind of a crappy law. By definition the POTUS makes a lot of enemies serving the country and lifetime protection seems to me to be a reasonable use of tax dollars.

I just learned, rather unsurprisingly, that Nixon voluntarily dropped his protection, presumably while screaming"Come at me, bro". Truly the man was a legend.

Nixon didn't need the Secret Service. He had two b52's flying operation Chromedome II directly above his...er dome. Sure he would go out, but he was going to take everyone else out with him, because thats how he rolled.
