Okay you can't deny that all of this would be awesome. And it would make sense with the potential new cultists line, but instead of Chaos cultists its really just followers of the High Lords instead of the Emperor

Sure I can. This wouldn't be awesome, it'd probably feel forced and would shake up too many things, which is why I don't see it happening.

For thirteen years I had a dog with fur the darkest black. For thirteen years he was my friend, oh how I want him back.

Again glacial speed advancement isn't going to shake things up so much that it changes the entire story. Hell it's even possible to bring back a primarch without actually bringing him back. So and so was sighted in so and so place or so and so primarch returned to his chapter to bear news or artifacts to them before disappearing again. Hardly that much of a change.

Was that confirmed? I thought he was believed dead after they recovered his engraved skeletal hand but no corpse to confirm his death.

I am almost positive they had.his skeleton too.

They do. His body, sans hands, is in a shrine, embedded in clear amber in the same shape of his body. His skeletal hands are in two separate shrines, with the names of each successive chapter master engraved in them.

As for the other primarchs - Guilliman is dead and in stasis, though according to some Ultramarines (a really credible source there) the wounds are slowly healing in stasis. Lion El'Johnson is asleep in the Rock. Vulkan disappeared. The Khan dissapeared in the webway following some Dark Eldar. Russ is in the Eye of Terror fighting the good fight. Ferrus Manus iis shorter by a head. Corax went into the Eye of Terror as well. Sanguinius is dead dead dead.

So there's some hope for a primarch returning. Vulkan, Russ, Corax, Khan and Johnson are all either known to be alive or simply disappeared with no news on their whereabouts. Guilliman could come back with a bit of hand waving.

In Da Mek Shop.

As much as the idea of The Emprah kicking the bucket and being reborn would be fun, I can't see GW doing this.
Fluffwise if it were to happen the entire imperium would grind to a halt. because without the emperor on his throne, the light of the astronomicon would dissapear. Meaning each and every imperial vessel would lose its refrence point in the warp. Thus making warp travel impossible.

As for one or more primarchs returning. I wouldn't mind so long as it isn't Roboute "the pimp" Guilliman. The last thing we need is the ultrasmurfs getting even more self righteous and influential. But thats just my opinion ofcourse. ( I see way to many Ultra Marines at the Friendly Local Game store here >_>;; )

And whats this about them protecting Tau? That idea is simply laughable >_> If one even remotely thinks this possible then remember one of the imperiums best known quotes:
Suffer not the Heretic, the Witch or the Xenos. Purge them with bolter and fire.

Ork WAAAGH Zapzog: roughly 4000 points and ever growing. Tau Cadre of Zuran'Ki: 3000 points. Grey Knights Interdiction Force Galeon : 2500 points. Tyranid Hive Fleet Crateria: 2500 Points. The Host of Hadrekon: 1500 points. Catachan 44th Swamp hunters. 800 points.

2000 points Skaven Army. Arcsqueeks Horde 1000 points Vampire Counts Army. Duke Valmai's Court. 1000 Points Dwarven Army. Bhor Grimhammers Throng. Planning to get some Ogres later this year.
Curse you Snake-eyes!

Sure, have them both. But , and thats the point, thegeneral fluff doesn't need a significant change.

It was unneccessary for the Crons ( but they wanted to alter them to Tomb-kings-in-space ) and the GK had no need for this move to radicals, nor was it a good idea to dedicate a whole codex to a very specialized force. All I see is a change of the theme of a codex and changes aren't guaranteed improvements.

Yeah that sounds terrible. If the cultists are following the High Lords who are the regular guard following? Are they following the marines in arbitrarily protecting the Tau? I will be damned if my Guard army group was helping the Tau. Hell I might get one of my Tau friends to play an entire campaign against me just to feel better if that fluff turned out to be true.

The crons is the one area where I always stand besides Ward, most of his fluff is fanboyish in the way it is written and I don't care for it, but the necrons needed a change, they had no diversity or uniqueness. The necrons didn't even have special characters, something even the Tyranids have, and short of the Ctan (which as they originally were shouldn't have been on the tabletop at all due to how OP they would be or how weak they actually were compared to their fluff) they had no ability to have special characters. Honestly I don't even see why tomb kings in space is any worse than mindless zombie robot slaves. At least now necrons have some cool special characters.

Granted, evolution is unstoppable and codices have to fit into the actual design of the most recent/upcoming Edition.
Had to research a few things last week and seen the ancient ( ie the ?first? batch of metal necrons ) and how few they were. Also spotted a bat-rep with the young Ward playing Necrons...

Necrons didn't have special characters because their theme was a 'face-less' horde and the need of those SC is a 5th ed creation.
Tomb kings in space is bad when one of the most advanced and ancient civs has no means for their own travel except slow vessels or breaking into the webway. They had aeons and couldn't come up with something better?
Tombs kings in space is bad when the style of their "arks" makes you think: if one would object if I put Settra on the table?
Tomb kings in space isn't bad in general, mind you. I do feel that 40k should keep its distance to WHFB tough.

They have his skeleton encased in amber. I'd say that is pretty much confirmed as dead.
