i have a AS186 single piston compressor with a 3 liter tank and i bought it for €80/60GBP/$100
a friend of mine has the same compressor, but then from BlackBull, without a tank, he payed more for it (about €15-20) (btw i found the same out without the tank and without a brand for €50) but he is having a much harder time being able to spray constantly because his compressor keeps overheating. and what hairysticks said it will significantly shorten the lifespan of the compressor

Which compressor/tank setup is that?

Thats an 'AS196' if you google for that you should find it ... there is also an 'AS186' that has a single piston head on a tank. and another 2 that are just compressors with no tank, and some more housed inside metal cases... quite a selection to be honest. They are 'generic' compresors that get sold under a lot of brand names...I'm not sure where they actually get made hehe.........

Your friendly neighbourhood Generic brand Chinese Manufacturer for hire of course.

To those that shudder at the thought at buy a compressor from the insidious Chinese, you more that likely got one under a differant badge anyway.

I have the AS186 and it's pretty damn good.

I couldve guessed China lol, wasn't actually sure though.
I'm runing an AS189a (the a just means it was in a black aluminium case, which I ended up removing anyway.

The case only gets screwed back on for transit really.

Its very good, iv been using it for over 2 years some days for a lot of hours on end. It can run any airbrush and a small hvlp gun (literally for short bursts only- the tank empties through one of those in about 20seconds)

One note on using CO2;

If it is COLD where you are using it, you will get inconsistent pressure from it. If you go with compressed air, use either nitrogen, or standard outside air (which is mostly nitrogen).

(if someone else pointed this out, I missed it; my apologies).

I used a compressor without a tank for my first year or so, it was fine. If you can afford one with a tank, great, if not....it won't kill you...

Just picked up the TC-20T on Craigslist for $50. It's at the link below, just scroll down a bit. Looks exactly like an AS186, were my thoughts correct that it's just re-branded?
